Scout Campers Launches New Lightweight Pop-up

Scout Camper Yoho Pop-up

Each day, the overland industry grows in unexpected ways. And for the 3rd of June, Adventure Manufacturing’s Scout Campers announces their new Pop-up. It is no coincidence that the other significant event for the 3rd of June was when Martin Behaim released the first extant globe, the Erdapfel, to the world in 1492. The new Scout Pop-up is also ready to take us around the globe.

From personal experience, I have found the Scout Campers to be lightweight, durable, and comfortable, having used our Kenai (that we purchased) on our GMC project truck for many years. There is a simplicity and minimalism to their campers that I find deeply appealing. So it is no surprise our enthusiasm for the just announced Yoho Pop-up.

This first release model, the Yoho, is designed for mid-sized short or standard bed pickups like the Tacoma, Frontier, Gladiator, Ranger, and Grenadier Quartermaster. While the lower 3/4 of the camper is very similar to their hard-sided units, they have incorporated numerous design changes with this new model, like bamboo countertops, recycled wood cabinets, and the use of even more composite materials for weight savings. The Yoho Pop-up comes in at 970 pounds, which is light by camper standards, but the owner will need to still choose their base vehicle wisely.

The lifting roof is of particular note, incorporating an Easy Rise lifting design that is now patent pending and can be opened by a solo traveler (even of smaller stature and/or strength). The lid is molded composite to save weight, improve fuel efficiency, and aid in rain and snow shedding. Scout also worked with Go Fast Campers on the design and construction of the fabric walls.

Being an owner of a Scout, I can attest to the thoughtfulness and durability of the brand, so we look forward to getting our hands on a Scout Campers Pop-up Yoho to see how this newest evolution meets the needs of the global traveler.

Scout Campers Takes Compact Camping to New Heights as They Unveil Revolutionary New Pop Up Camper

Yakima, WA – Scout Campers is excited to announce the launch of their first pop-up model, designed to provide a compact, yet immersive and adventurous camping experience. The Yoho Pop Up model is a perfect match for select midsize and full-size truck owners. Harnessing Scout’s proven quality, innovative design, dedication to modular, self-sustaining systems, and customizability, the Yoho pop-up promises an unmatched connection with nature.

Camp Simple, Camp Easy

Scout Campers is focused on ensuring set-up is seamless and easy. This was achieved through the design and development of their patent-pending Easy Rise lift system which allows you to deploy and stow the roof within one position in the camper. This new system eliminates the strenuous process with an ingenious design that utilizes mechanical advantage without the need to go to a power lift system that can add complexities of added cost, weight, needing power, or tools to operate.

Built for Performance

The one-piece monocoque composite roof is another first for Scout. Leveraging this process, which is commonly used in marine manufacturing, allowed Scout Campers to maintain the distinguished design profiles as the Hard Wall models, increase the door height, and improve performance. The one piece contoured roof sheds water with ease and features a marine-grade finish for superior durability and strength. This robust, lightweight design enhances durability and weather resistance, crucial for extended outdoor use.

Partnering with GFC for the soft wall design, the Scout’s pop-up line is crafted to be breathable, water, and UV resistant, with large 360-degree panorama windows that seamlessly blend the user’s experience with nature.

Eco and Ergo friendly interiors

Inside, the Scout’s pop-up model features recycled paper cabinets that are durable, resin-reinforced, water-resistant, and eco-friendly. The expansive galley includes more counter space, a convertible lounge seating four adults, and ample storage.

Starting at $27,900, the Scout Yoho Pop-Up Camper is available for pre-order now. Step into a new era of exploration and discover how quality and sustainability can guide your next adventure.
