Land Rover LR3

The Land Rover Discovery is a great choice for overland travel, with recent adventure-equipped offerings including this 2001, 2008, and 2013. This iconic 4WD provides many of the same desirable attributes (and key advantages) as the much lauded and beloved Defender at a fraction of the price. It boasts class-leading capability thanks to full-time 4WD, a center (and optional rear) locking differential, height-adjustable air suspension, and an intelligent Terrain Response system. These features are balanced with sumptuous climate-controlled interior luxury, which is ideal for long days behind the wheel. Aftermarket support for the model is excellent, and enables owners to address known issues and totally reimagine this already capable platform from the ground up. Subsequently, it’s a popular choice with the community, with inspiring builds showcased by Enter the Rover, T3 Time 2 Drive, and Outback Shadz. Cue today’s 2008 Land Rover Discovery LR3 HSE (158,xxx miles), which incorporates desirable options from the factory (including a rear locker) and premium aftermarket modifications. It’s been meticulously maintained with a long list of recent maintenance and servicing (documented in the original listing). From the Seller:

This is my 2008 Land Rover LR3 HSE—a rig built to roam, and one that’s done exactly that. I flew to West Palm Beach in 2016 to buy it from another Expedition Portal user; it had 55,000 miles when I drove it home to Oklahoma. Since then, it’s been through the backroads of West Texas, the mesas of New Mexico, up and down the rugged San Juan Mountains in Colorado, and through almost every inch of Oklahoma. It’s climbed, crawled, and cruised without complaint, and then eaten the long highway miles home like nothing happened. This truck doesn’t just drive—it tells stories. And yes—this is without a doubt the most reliable Land Rover that Land Rover has ever built. Go ahead and laugh, but nearly everything done to this vehicle has been either preventative or a thoughtful upgrade to improve the ownership experience—not a scramble to keep it alive. I recently picked up a Toyota Tundra and don’t have the ability to keep both. This LR3 has a lot of life and adventure left in it—and it deserves someone who’ll keep the story going.”
