2008 Land Rover Discovery LR3 HSE :: Classifieds

Land Rover LR3

The Discovery is a fantastic choice for overlanding with recent offerings including this 2005 SE w/ HD Package, 2006 SE, and 2008. I’m not sure that any vehicle depreciates as fast as a luxury Land Rover, which makes these 4WDs a bargain on the used market. With this in mind, cue today’s 2008 Land Rover Discovery LR3 HSE (171,500 miles), which is priced at just $7,500. That’s a truly remarkable value when you consider that from the dealership, this vehicle would’ve set you back the best part of $60,000. So what’s the catch? Well, it remains a premium vehicle, which means some parts are going to be expensive and they can have some electrical gremlins, but all in all, they’re a fantastic daily driver and a legitimate overland rig. It was for these reasons and more that international travelers Expedition Rove chose a 2005 Land Rover LR3 to complete the infamous Pan-American Highway. If you’d like a better understanding of how this venerable Land Rover can be outfitted for adventure, then check out builds from Nick Jaynes, T3 Time 2 Drive, and Texas Truck Channel. Four owners with no accidents and lots of recent maintenance that includes a new rear differential, alternator, front lower control arms, brakes, a driver’s heated seat element, fluids, and a cluster repair. The body has no big dings, and the paint is in good condition with some light scuffs and oxidation on the upper part of the roof. It has a clean interior.”
