Do you have an incredible tale of adventure?
Have you been told you should publish your stories?
Does the thought of pitching to magazines or publishers sound daunting?
If so, you need to check out Carla King’s Your Moto Diaries writing workshop.
I took the YMD workshop at the beginning of 2021 to help with a book I’m trying to finish. Not only did I read some wonderful, publish-worthy adventures from fellow writer riders, I also received valuable advice on chapters I submitted to the group.
Carla also adds a component on how to pitch to editors and publishers, so your hard work doesn’t just sit in a digital closet somewhere.
If you’re trying to break into the moto writing ‘scene,’ or even just meet other riders who write, you can’t beat the networking in a course like Carla’s.
More about the Your Moto Diaries workshop:
Adventure writer and publishing expert Carla King leads workshops to help you craft, finish, and publish your travel stories, blog posts, and books. The adventure begins with a travel writing course and moves into a weekly workshop format with a lively international online community.
The Your Moto Diaries travel writing workshop is open to adventure writers on two, four, or more wheels. It’s both a writing course and a writing community.
The workshop helps writers craft stories to publish in magazines and anthologies, or a blog, or for chapters in a memoir. It also shows new writers how to break into magazines by contributing readers stories and gear reviews. The sessions offer advice from editors working in industry publications.
Members include beginners but also experienced writers with bylines who wish to accelerate their productivity, continue their education, refresh their skills, and get feedback from the community.
The Your Moto Diaries community is a spinoff of the Virtual Travel Writers Group formed by Carla King in March 2020, at the beginning of the pandemic. Its members have connected on the road as well as virtually.
As an explorer, moto journalist, travel columnist, author, and editor, Carla formed the group to gather with other writers to work on stories and books they hadn’t had time to write yet. There was so much demand from new travel writers that she created an online course and a series of workshops.
The Virtual Travel Writing Group (VTWG) is a public Facebook travel writing community and the Your Moto Diaries (YMD) is the “power sports” edition of the VTWG. The workshop will run for 12 weeks with an option to continue through 2022.
