Land Rover LR3

The Land Rover LR3 is a fantastic budget-friendly 4WD to hit the road with and explore. It’s a popular choice on the forum, with recent overland-ready examples including this 2005 HSE with the HD package, 2006, and 2008 HSE with the HD and Luxury packages. It’s an underappreciated value that provides many of the same desirable attributes as the venerable Defender but at a fraction of the cost. It was for these reasons and more that it was the platform of choice for international overlanders Expedition Rove, who traveled through 14 countries on the Pan-American highway in their 2005 LR3 (reference Building The LR3 :: From Weekend Warrior to Expedition Rig to learn more). Cue today’s 2006 Land Rover LR3 HSE (102,825 miles), which has been tastefully uprated for adventure, yet is priced at just $14,900. If you’d like to better understand the benefits of the Discovery for overlanding then check Expedition Portal’s features on the Land Rover LR3 :: A Front Runner Project and La Aduana’s 2007 Land Rover LR3 HSE.

From the Seller:

Very good condition. This was a Texas truck, and it has zero underbody rust, which is rare. The plan was to take this to the Upper Peninsula in Michigan on overlanding trips with the family, but between soccer and golf with the kids, we have no time to use it. Too nice of a truck to sit in our driveway.”
