2006 Land Rover LR3 :: Classifieds

Land Rover discovery LR3

It’s safe to say that you’ll be hard-pressed to find a more luxurious go-anywhere vehicle for less than today’s $9,900 OBO Discovery LR3. Back when this vehicle was new it had an MSRP of $44,985, which is no surprise considering its powerful V8 motor, desirable all-terrain features, and plush interior. Subsequently, it’s a popular budget-friendly option on our forum with recent builds including this 2006 overland build, a 2008 HSE LUX HD, and a 2005 SE with HD package. The Discovery may not have the same cult following as the iconic Defender but it is a legitimate overland platform as discussed recently during Ashley Giordano’s interview with Expedition Rove on the Overland Journal podcast. The couple purchased a $3,000 LR3 with a broken transmission, which they repaired and then drove without major issue from California to Argentina. If you’d like to learn more about their rig I highly recommend checking out the LR3 Build page on their website. Today’s 2006 Land Rover Discovery LR3 has covered 198,300 miles and would make a perfect blank canvas for a full expedition build-out.

From the Seller:

“This Discovery LR3 is mechanically solid. The exterior is in good shape with no issues or dents, but it’s not a low-mile garage queen and has some CA sunburn on the hood. It’s also worth noting that it does not have the HD package.
