The Jeep x Addax Gladiator Overlanding Camper Ships Summer 2024

The Jeep Gladiator overlanding camper by Addax Overland is purpose-built and designed to provide a comprehensive and comfortable solution for Jeep overland enthusiasts. This camper complements the Jeep Gladiator’s robust off-road capabilities with specialized camping amenities, creating a versatile and durable mobile shelter suitable for extended outdoor adventures. We got to have a look at the Addax camper at Overland Expo PNW, and it left an impression.

Jeep Addax

Before you ask, yes, the Jeep x Addax camper and trailer are officially affiliated with Jeep. It’s a modular system designed to integrate seamlessly with the Jeep Gladiator, offering a drill-free installation that preserves the vehicle’s integrity. Jeep had directly collaborated with Addax back in 2022 on the design and launch of the Jeep Addax Overland Trailer, as showcased during the Detroit Auto Show and at the SEMA Show, where the trailer received a Global Media Award.

The Addax overlanding camper comprises an individual truck cap and tent system designed to echo the rugged aesthetic that Jeep vehicles are known for. The design emphasizes functionality and ease of use. One of its standout features is the removable pop-up roof, which significantly increases interior space when deployed. This design allows for standing room inside the camper, enhancing comfort and livability. The pop-up roof is constructed from durable materials to withstand various weather conditions, and its deployment mechanism is straightforward, enabling quick setup and takedown.

The inside layout is planned to maximize space and utility, with a sleeping area designed to accommodate two adults comfortably, and a high-density foam mattress providing adequate support for a good night’s sleep. The interior includes multiple storage compartments, allowing travelers to organize their gear and personal items efficiently. These storage solutions ensure everything has its place, reducing clutter and enhancing the overall living experience.

The camper is equipped with a robust electrical system for off-grid capabilities. It includes solar panels mounted on the roof, a deep-cycle battery, and an inverter, providing reliable power for lighting, appliances, and electronic devices. This system ensures that travelers can remain connected and powered up, even in remote locations. A water storage tank and filtration system ensures access to clean water throughout the trip. Additionally, the camper includes mounting points for accessories such as jerry cans, recovery gear, and additional storage boxes, enhancing its versatility and utility.

One of the significant advantages of the Jeep Gladiator overlanding camper is its ability to remain self-sufficient for extended periods. The integration of solar power, ample water storage, and a well-designed living space means that travelers can spend more time exploring off-grid locations without needing frequent resupply stops. This capability is a key aspect of overland travel, where the goal is often to venture into less accessible and more remote areas.

The camper’s construction prioritizes durability and longevity. The materials used in both the interior and exterior are chosen for their ability to withstand harsh conditions and heavy use. The pop-up roof mechanism, kitchen components, and storage solutions are all built to endure the rigors of overland travel, providing reliable performance over the long term.

In addition to its practical features, the Jeep Gladiator overlanding camper also offers a high level of customization. Travelers can choose from various optional upgrades and accessories to tailor the unit to their specific needs and preferences. These options include additional lighting, upgraded suspension components, and enhanced storage solutions, allowing each unit to be uniquely equipped for its intended use. The camper may also be fitted with a compact yet fully functional kitchen with a propane stove, a sink with a water pump, and a refrigerator, allowing travelers to conveniently prepare meals while on the road. The kitchen area is designed to be both practical and efficient, with storage for kitchen utensils and supplies.

The Jeep Gladiator overlanding camper by Addax Overland seems like a well-rounded and thoughtfully designed living space. Its blend of rugged construction, functional amenities, and self-sufficiency features makes it a practical choice for overland enthusiasts seeking a reliable and comfortable mobile shelter.

The Addax Truck Cap alone retails for $4,750, and the Truck Cap and Tent System retails for $11,650.
