The Bug Wall makes UV-resistant rear and side-door van screens for the Promaster, Mercedes Sprinter, and Ford Transit platforms (among others). I had considered screens like these made-in-the-USA liners for my Ram ProMaster van, but figured them unnecessary, what with the five windows with their own screens I’d installed and the vent fan pulling hot air out of the roof. If I wanted to leave the sliding door open, though, that meant letting bugs come and go as they pleased.
The Bug Wall was the fix I didn’t know I needed until I got it installed. Cinching neatly up to the perimeter of the sliding door, a magnetized slit in the center lets you push it open to get in and out, before it snaps right back together again (sometimes with a bit of fussing to get it perfectly sealed). When you’re just lounging in the van, it lets in more of a breeze than any windows possibly could. And when I want the Bug Wall entirely out of the way to load the van or because I’m in an insect-free place, I can roll it all the way up to the ceiling and snap it in place.
If a cool breeze isn’t what you’re after, the company also makes a Chill Curtain (purchase the optional frame if you don’t already own the Bug Wall) to keep the cold out.
