At the beginning of this year, I abandoned my rolling home (a Vanagon Syncro) as engine failure struck for the third time. It was especially painful on this occasion as I’d just spent five months restoring the bodywork and overhauling the interior. It’s times like these that I wish I’d instead invested in a transferable flatbed and camper setup that could be easily swapped to a different platform should disaster strike. It’s also a more versatile configuration that can be painlessly removed to free up your truck as a daily driver, work vehicle, or trail rig. Overland Explorer Vehicles (OEV) campers are widely considered industry-leading and synonymous with no-expense-spared, marine-grade quality. Senior Editor Ashley Giordano toured the OEV Factory in Alberta, Canada, and was very impressed, stating: “More than once, I’ve heard Overland Explorer Vehicles campers described as ‘over-engineered,’ and it’s easy to understand why … the engineering, strategy, design, and choice of materials make sense.” Cue today’s fully-equipped 2024 Hudson Bay 6.75-foot flatbed camper that’s been optioned with a plethora of desirable factory options. This is a unique opportunity to purchase a brand-new camper directly from Basil’s Garage at a huge discount (reason for sale documented below).
From the Seller:
“This camper is brand new and in perfect condition. Never slept in and has not been outside of our business park. This camper is very well equipped and ready to be mounted to your tray. It was purchased as our demo unit and was going to be taken on trips, to shows, and used to display the product to customers. It was installed on the truck about a month ago and has since been removed. It is at our shop waiting for its new owner. We can install the camper on your vehicle at the shop on an existing tray or supply another brand. Alternatively, if you want an OEV tray to go with it we can transfer the camper to the new SoCal dealer. The Hudson Bay is the top-of-the-line flatbed camper on the market today. We had big plans to take it on multi-month-long expeditions. The camper has all the best appliances and uses OEV’s amazing construction technology to make it an exceptionally well-thought-out, complete unit. We’re only selling because we’re shifting gears with what camper manufacturers we offer at Basil’s Garage. It was purchased as a demo unit to put on our shop truck for marketing. We’re bummed not to have ever gotten to use it and hope the new owner gets to take it all across North America on adventures.”
