Overland Classifieds :: 2022 Ram 2500 w/CampX Overland Camper

The Ram 2500 is a great truck that’s well-suited to overland builds, especially with the 6.7-liter Cummins diesel engine. It is, therefore, no surprise that the Ram 2500 is such a popular choice on the forum, with recent examples including this 2017 w/ BunduTecUSA Flatbed Camper, a 2021 6.4 Hemi w/ FWC Woolrich, and a 2020 w/ OEV camper.

I’ve made the point that for overlanders, fuel economy is somewhat secondary to reliability and performance, but with skyrocketing gas prices, the 6.4-liter Hemi is just too thirsty, so I’d personally opt for the more “economical” diesel. Furthermore, the Cummins is a fantastic long-lived motor that delivers enough torque and power to comfortably haul a camper, pull a heavy trailer, or attack technical terrain. Today’s example has covered just 18,000 miles, showcases the desirable Laramie package, premium modifications, an Overland Explorer Vehicles CampX camper, and is priced at $129,000. That’s a lot of money, but good value considering this comparable 2020 2500 w/ 2022 OEV Camper is listed for $189,000.

From the Seller:

The durability and convenience of this rig is something that our family has enjoyed. From camping at state parks, day trips to dispersed camping, and even nights at the race track, this has been a solid rig. Paired with the Ram 2500, it was the ultimate setup for our usage.”

2022 Ram 2500

The Ram 2500 is fitted with a 6.7-liter diesel motor that produces 370 horsepower, a massive 850 pound-feet of torque, and returns a combined 15 mpg. A highly-regarded Cummins engine is mated with go-anywhere capability, thanks to 4WD and high/low range. However, with a low front bumper and side steps, you’ll need to consider big tires and a lift to maximize the truck’s potential. Fortunately, a wide array of aftermarket parts and accessories make this possible. Inside, the 2500 is well-equipped, courtesy of Ram’s Laramie package, which includes:

  • Power-adjustable, heated, and cooled leather seats
  • Cruise control
  • Climate control
  • Premium 10-speaker Alpine audio
  • Twelve-inch infotainment system with navigation
  • Keyless entry and start

Distinguishing Features

  • Method wheels with BFGoodrich A/T tires
  • Fox shocks with rear air bags
  • Overland Explorer Vehicles CampX camper
  • Alu-Cab Batwing awning
  • Dometic CFX 55 fridge
  • Rear storage box
  • AFE Power exhaust
  • WeBoost signal booster
