Overland Classifieds :: 2020 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 Bison w/ Alu-Cab Canopy Camper

There was a time when choosing a mid-size truck for overlanding meant heading to the Toyota dealership and picking up a Tacoma TRD Off-Road. However, it’s not that clear-cut any longer, with many excellent alternatives available. The reality is there aren’t “bad” new trucks anymore, and while each vehicle has its pros and cons, these differences are becoming increasingly marginal. With this in mind, mid-size options such as the Ford Ranger, GMC Canyon AT4X, Jeep Gladiator, Nissan Frontier PRO-4X, and, indeed, the Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 Bison are all excellent choices.

It’s no secret that I’m a fan of the Colorado, especially the Bison edition. I have recently featured expedition-ready examples, including this 2020 with a Smartcap Evo Sport canopy and a 2020 with a Super Pacific camper. It’s also a favorite with the Expedition Portal team with gleaming reviews from Chris Cordes and Scott Brady. If you’d like to see how this platform can be outfitted for extended travel, check out this overland-kitted Chevy Colorado ZR2 Bison camper on the New Jersey Outdoor Adventures YouTube channel. Today’s low-mileage (66,800 miles) 2020 offering showcases desirable modifications and a well-equipped Alu-Cab canopy camper.

From the Seller:

“[I am] selling my 2020 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 Bison with [an] Alu-Cab canopy camper, turn-key [and] ready to explore! This truck was built with some of the best parts in the industry for exploration and enjoyment. This truck will cruise smoothly down the highway at 80 mph. It’s a complete [and] well thought-out rig that will keep you smiling and looking back at every stop.

2020 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 Bison

The ZR2 is fitted with a V6 motor that produces 308 horsepower, 275 pound-feet of torque, and returns 16/18 mpg (city/highway). A powerful yet surprisingly frugal engine provides thrilling Trophy Truck-like performance on-road with a respectable sub-seven second sprint from 0 to 60 mph. However, when the tarmac ends, the Bison really comes to life with excellent capability thanks to 4WD, front and rear locking differentials, snorkel, rock sliders, skid plates, low range, Multimatic Dynamic Suspensions Spool Valve shocks, and more. Inside, these rugged credentials are offset by a luxurious interior with driver comforts that include:

  • Premium Bose audio system
  • Cruise control
  • Keyless entry
  • Infotainment system with navigation
  • Rearview camera

Distinguishing Features

  • Baja Designs lighting
  • Relentless Fabrication rear bumper with swing arm
  • Alu-Cab canopy camper
  • Alu-Cab awning, shower cube, and MOLLE panels
  • Freshwater tank holding 13 gallons
  • Dickinson Marine P9000 fireplace
  • Two Renogy 100-amp-hour lithium batteries with Sunflare 105-watt solar panel

This 2020 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 Bison with Alu-Cab canopy camper is listed for $72,000 and is currently located in Canton, Georgia. Check the full vehicle specifications via the original Expedition Portal forum post here.
