Overland Classifieds :: 2018 Mercedes Sprinter 144 4×4 Overland Ready

We’ve recently had several expedition-equipped Sprinter 4x4s posted to our forum, including this $85,000 2016 4×4 2500 170 High Roof, a $90,000 2016 4×4 Overland Build, and a $119,000 2017 4×4 2500. Mercedes Sprinters aren’t inexpensive, and today’s $130,000 offering is no exception. However, while prices are eye-watering (and often inflated), there’s no denying that the Sprinter is a great vehicle for travel. They’re comfortable to drive with reliable engines and drivetrains, acceptable economy, fantastic interior living space, and readily available OEM and aftermarket parts and accessories. Furthermore, while the all-terrain capability of the 4WD variant is pretty impressive, there are also various aftermarket products and services that can drastically enhance stock capability. Today’s stunning example has covered just 75,000 miles, showcases premium modifications, a well-equipped camper interior, and its own website documenting the van’s extensive adventures: thisepicadventure.com.

From the Seller:

“We have been fortunate to build an amazing overland van and take it on unforgettable adventures. Because of our amazing time in the Sprinter, we have ambitious plans to spend the next 10 or 15 years on the road traveling the world. We have subsequently decided to move into an expedition truck (a dream of ours) to continue our travels.”

2018 Mercedes Sprinter 144 4×4

The Sprinter 4×4 is fitted with a 3.0-liter V6 motor that produces 188 horsepower and 325 pound-feet of torque (today’s example has been chipped for an additional 30 horsepower). A dependable engine and drivetrain are matched with impressive all-terrain capability thanks to Mercedes’ intelligent 4WD (technically AWD), which can send up to 33 percent of the torque to the front wheels. In addition, this model has 20 percent more ground clearance than the 2WD and a lower geared differential to tackle technical terrain. There’s a wide range of aftermarket parts from the likes of ARB and Van Compass.
