Overland Classifieds :: 2012 Ford F-550 4×4 Ambulance Build

The Ford F-550 4×4 fitted with the 6.7-liter Power Stroke diesel is a fantastic blank canvas for building the ultimate overland vehicle. An impressive 12,660-pound max payload and 26,500-pound towing capacity make this the perfect platform for hauling a fully-equipped camper, luggage, and passengers across unpaved roads without breaking a sweat. It’s for this reason that the F-550 is one of the primary base vehicles of choice for EarthRoamer’s luxurious overland rigs. It’s, therefore, a popular option on our forum for live-in builds such as this 2016 with a Northstar Laredo SC camper, a 2019 Severe Duty, and the 2004 MuseRoamer. Despite its immense size, the F-550 is very impressive on backcountry trails, especially if you invest in a Super Single conversion, as demonstrated on the TFL Offroad YouTube channel. If you’d like a better idea of how this vehicle can be outfitted for long-term travel, then check out the rolling homes built by Total Composites and Moto RV. Today’s 2012 offering has covered 225,000 miles and features an ambulance body, a semi-converted camper interior, and premium modifications.

From the Seller:

This was originally ordered by the Kansas City Fire Department, and when I bought it in rural Kentucky, the previous owners had taken immaculate care of it. There is no frame rust that you commonly see on Midwest trucks. I did speak to the firefighters and the Captain in charge of this unit, and they had nothing but good things to say about it. I have their maintenance records going back to around 2016 (I think).”
