Overland Classifieds :: 2005 Lexus GX470

Despite its posh reputation, the Lexus GX is a rugged 4WD platform and a popular choice for overland builds, with recent examples including this 2005 GX470, 2006 model overland build, and 2005 Sport. It’s also a favorite with the team here at Expedition Portal, and Overland Journal featured one as a project vehicle. The finished build exceeded our expectations, and you can see it tackling technical terrain on the Expedition Portal YouTube channel. So, what makes this Lexus such a desirable option? In short, it’s one of the few vehicles that seamlessly combines exceptional dependability and capability with class-leading interior luxury. If you’d like a better idea of how this platform performs as a dedicated expedition rig, check out this feature piece on Adventure Driven’s Expedition-Ready Lexus GX470. Today’s meticulously maintained offering showcases the exceptionally long-lived V8 motor, premium modifications, and is priced competitively at $25,000 OBO. Additional info about the build and its adventures are documented at squashingrocks.com.

From the Seller:

Purchased in Arizona in 2016, shipped to NJ in 2017, and regularly Fluid Filmed by yours truly since. Many underbody photos are available—apologies for the Utah mud that remains. The most rust I’ve seen on this truck is on the rear axle, which came from a 2013 4Runner from the middle of the country. Not interested in trades (though I would consider a partial trade for an AT Overland camper). I’m moving to a full-size truck and can’t justify keeping this as well.”
