Overland Classifieds :: 2000 Mitsubishi Montero

During the pandemic, the cost of used 4WDs skyrocketed as more people swapped international travel for adventures closer to home. Fortunately, prices slowed down in 2022, and as we kick off 2023, we’re seeing many more killer deals. I’ve really enjoyed seeking out these bargain rigs such as this $15,000 2003 Fuso 4×4 with habitation box, an $8,000 2000 Land Rover Discovery II, and an $8,000 1994 Ram 2500 with an Alaskan camper. However, today’s 2000 Mitsubishi Montero is arguably the best yet, featuring fabled Japanese build-quality, optional factory Endeavor Package, and premium modifications (including front and rear lockers), yet is priced at a bargain $8,500. At this price point, it’s rare even to find a stock Japanese 4WD in good condition, let alone an overland-ready rig. The Montero makes a fantastic travel companion, as showcased by builds from Gondirtin and JKOverland. It’s also no slouch when the tarmac ends and is at home on backcountry trails, as demonstrated by this Mitsubishi Montero Off-Road Compilation on YouTube. If you’re interested in today’s 2000 offering, then best act quickly, as this rig will sell fast!

From the Seller:

It pains me to make this post; however, recent financial events mean I have to sell two of my cars ASAP. What we have is a 2000 Mitsubishi Montero Endeavor Package. This is a gen 2.5 Montero, one of the ‘widebody blister fender’ Monteros that was only made for three years. This example was completely stock until March 2022, when I purchased it. Overall this rig has been built well and has never let me down. All the major maintenance is caught up, and is built to handle 35 [-inch tires] very well. To be clear, this is not a project car. This was my personal build, and it is 98% of the way there.”
