Norweld Partners With Ineos to Create the Ultimate Grenadier Tray

Norweld, Australia’s premier manufacturer of 4WD trays and canopies, has announced a partnership with British automotive manufacturer Ineos. This collaboration aims to customize Norweld’s unique tray and canopy products for new and upcoming vehicle models, including the Ineos Grenadier dual-cab Quartermaster and dual-cab Quartermaster Chassis Cab pickups globally.

The Chassis Cab variant provides an option without the traditional tub found on the dual-cab Quartermaster pickup, offering owners the flexibility of an aluminum tray. This feature enhances the vehicle’s versatility, making it particularly appealing to tradespeople, fleet customers, and off-road enthusiasts who appreciate one product that serves many purposes.

Norweld’s dual-cab trays and canopies, similar in dimensions to the Toyota Land Cruiser 79 series, feature standard components such as flared mudguards, a tube headboard with twin spare tire holders, stainless hinges, and catches, an 11-gallon (43-liter) water tank, a 4-foot (1,200mm) long under-tray drawer, behind-the-wheel under-tray toolboxes, a 4mm fully welded one-piece floor, 3/8th (10mm) tray mounts, and exclusive Norweld hardware, extrusions, and taillights.

Isaac Edmiston, Special Projects Director at Norweld, highlighted the company’s commitment to innovation through these recent projects.

“At Norweld we continue to push boundaries to create unique solutions catered to both fleet and recreational customers, locally and overseas. With 50 years’ experience, many leading automotive manufacturers come to us because we have a reputation and demonstrated ability to deliver a world-class product made in Australia.”

Edmiston emphasized the importance of continuous improvement and collaboration with like-minded businesses to develop best-in-class solutions. This approach not only benefits customers but also provides opportunities for Norweld to work on new 4×4 models before they are released in Australia.

Justin Hocevar, Head of Region APAC at Ineos Automotive, expressed excitement about the partnership with Norweld.

“We are thrilled to work with Norweld on the R&D and installation of the first tray on our Grenadier Quartermaster Chassis Cab in the Asia Pacific region. The feedback on the design and functionality of our Grenadier with the Norweld Deluxe Plus Tray has been overwhelmingly positive. This collaboration is an exciting journey as we bring this concept to market.”

Norweld has invested over $2 million in high-tech manufacturing equipment at its Brisbane and Cairns facilities, including an LVD laser cutter and a Kawasaki welding robot, to meet the growing demand for its premium products. The company has also expanded its workforce by more than 50% over the past year across its eight Australian sites, which now include new flagship manufacturing and fitting locations in Brisbane, Perth, and Newcastle.

The company is currently developing an export-ready flatbed variant for gas and diesel vehicles in all markets, with pricing to be announced. Canopy packages, dog pod canopies, and gullwing toolboxes are also available. The trays will retail in the US from $ 15,990.
