North American Electric Vehicles (NAEV) has introduced the 2025 Executive Edition Cyber-Hummer EV, a modernized and electrified version of the classic H1 Hummer. This launch marks a significant step in the electro-modding trend, where companies retrofit classic vehicles with electric powertrains, blending nostalgia with sustainability and modern performance. NAEV joins the ranks of other firms like Legacy EV, Zero Labs, and Electric GT, which are also making waves by converting off-road and overland vehicles to electric power.
The new Cyber-Hummer features a remarkable 1,000 horsepower and offers an on-road range of up to 300 miles. The first units of this limited edition model are set to roll off the production line this summer at NAEV’s new manufacturing center and headquarters.
Jeffrey Kotulak, the founder of NAEV, highlights the vision behind the new Cyber-Hummer, emphasizing its dual capability of tackling off-road challenges while providing a smooth highway ride. According to Kotulak, the classic H1 design is particularly well-suited for electrification due to its optimal layout for battery placement. He notes that the limited production run for the 2025 Executive Edition Cyber-Hummer promises a unique driving experience that combines the robust qualities of the original H1 with modern electric performance.
NAEV’s approach to the Cyber-Hummer build focuses on durability and reliability. The vehicle is constructed on a military-engineered chassis known for its toughness and off-road capability (and peculiar interior and exterior dimensions). The all-aluminum body and suspension components enhance the vehicle’s lightweight and durable structure. This electro-modded H1 features dual motor all-wheel drive powered by a Level 3 Tesla battery, enabling it to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.5 seconds. With 1,000 horsepower and 1,000 pound-feet of torque, the Cyber-Hummer is among the most powerful electric vehicles available.
The vehicle’s stopping power is ensured by Tesla’s regenerative braking and Brembo calipers. It rides on 20-inch alloy wheels with 37×12.5 R20 all-terrain tires, providing 15 inches of ground clearance. NAEV has equipped the Cyber-Hummer with off-road-calibrated traction programming, enhancing its ability to navigate challenging terrains.
A significant achievement in the design of the new Cyber-Hummer is the reduction of its curb weight. Weighing in at 4,500 pounds, it is significantly lighter than the modern Hummer, which typically weighs around 9,000 pounds. This weight reduction, combined with the low placement of Tesla-sourced battery packs within the frame, improves the vehicle’s performance and handling.
NAEV has also streamlined the charging process for the Cyber-Hummer. The vehicle supports both NACS and CSS charging networks, making a full charge easily accessible. With a range of up to 300 miles and the ability to charge at home or through Tesla’s extensive network, the Cyber-Hummer is well-suited for long journeys and expeditions.
Inside, the Cyber-Hummer is designed for comfort and entertainment, a clear break from the vehicle’s legacy. It features a state-of-the-art sound system, a Momo steering wheel, and vegan leather throughout the cabin. The spacious interior, achieved by removing the gargantuan transmission tunnel, can accommodate up to six passengers, ensuring a comfortable ride for large groups.
Kotulak describes the 2025 Executive Edition Cyber-Hummer as a pinnacle of electrical engineering, blending the iconic H1 design with cutting-edge electrification. The vehicle’s dual motor setup, luxurious interior, and powerful performance encapsulate a new era for this classic model.
NAEV offers the Cyber-Hummer in three trim levels: Baja ($98,900), Commander ($119,900), and Executive ($139,900). Customers can choose from four color options: grey, gold, white, and black. Additionally, a complete hard-top shell is available for the Executive Edition, depending on customer preference.
Each Cyber-Hummer is turnkey and does not require a donor truck. NAEV includes a two-year bumper-to-bumper warranty for all 2025 models, which are now available.
