The glove-friendly touchscreen allows for easy operation in various conditions, and the preloaded TopoActive maps provide detailed information on terrains, elevations, and points of interest, aiding in route planning and navigation. The devices are built for durability in challenging environments, making them reliable companions for extended adventures, and they keep your fragile smartphone in your pocket. The inclusion of multiple GNSS support enhances positioning accuracy, which is crucial for navigating remote areas. Additionally, the 710i and 760i models offer Garmin’s inReach satellite communication capabilities, allowing users to send SOS messages and communicate globally for added safety during off-grid excursions.
Garmin zūmo R1 Radar System for Motorcycles | $600
The zūmo R1 Radar is Garmin’s first purpose-built radar system for motorcycles, providing rearview and blind spot monitoring. The system includes a compact radar sensor that mounts above or below the license plate and handlebar-mounted indicator lights. The radar offers a 170-degree horizontal detection angle and can detect vehicles approaching from behind up to 197 feet away. The system is designed to withstand harsh weather conditions, featuring an IP67 dust and water resistance rating. It integrates with the zūmo Radar smartphone app, allowing riders to receive audio alerts through a paired headset and adjust settings such as alert sensitivity. Riders can also monitor the system through Garmin’s zūmo XT2 or Tread moto nav systems.
The zūmo R1 Radar enhances motorcycle safety by providing riders with increased situational awareness. The handlebar-mounted indicator lights alert riders to vehicles in their blind spots or approaching from behind, allowing them to make informed decisions when changing lanes or navigating traffic. The system’s audio alerts, delivered through a connected headset, ensure that riders can stay focused on the road without needing to check visual indicators constantly. The weatherproof design ensures reliability in various weather conditions, making it suitable for daily commuting and long-distance touring.
