Icon Vehicle Dynamics has announced the release of new products designed to improve the off-road capabilities of Ford Super Duty trucks from 2017 onwards. The company has introduced several new additions to the Icon Impact product line, including the Pro Series front and rear bumpers.
Icon designed the Pro Series bumpers to offer the best approach and departure angles possible and include light mounting provisions and rear corner protection. They feature a multi-faceted, high-clearance design that helps the big Ford truck negotiate tight trails. Tapered ends protect the lower grille corners while allowing the front tires full grip. In addition, Icon has developed an adaptive cruise control module relocation kit for trucks equipped with this feature.
The Icon Impact Front Winch Bumper includes an integrated, fully-tucked winch mount and recovery points. The winch is mounted low and tight to the truck, and it is equipped with replaceable laser-cut aluminum mesh panel inserts that allow increased airflow through the bumper to the vehicle’s cooling system. A separate, dedicated heavy-duty winch mount tray supports the winch behind the bumper, directly mounting to the vehicle’s frame.
The Pro Series bumpers are manufactured from 3/16-inch thick plate steel, CNC laser cut, and precision brake-formed for an exact fit, and they have a semi-gloss black multi-stage powder coat finish. Additional key features of the Pro Series bumpers include the ability for the winch tray to bolt directly to factory points for maximum strength.
The Pro Series bumper requires the additional relocation bracket on a vehicle equipped with adaptive cruise control, which is sold separately. The light mount is compatible with standard 3×3-inch cube-styled LED lights.
The Ford Super Duty front bumper will retail from $1,600, while the rear bumper will retail from $1,300 (prices may differ on the Icon website).
