ICON Vehicle Dynamics has a new suspension system specifically developed for 2020-up Ford Super Duty F250 and 350 trucks. These new kits were created to address the lower ride height of the 2020-up vehicles as compared to the 2017-2019 models.
While many of ICON’s 2017-2019 components will fit 2020-up models, there are some issues when installing a lift, specifically the factory castor alignment range. For instance, putting an ICON 2.5-inch lift designed for 2017-2019 models on a 2020-up F250/350 actually results in a 3-inch lift which can affect the vehicle’s steering response, sensitivity, and return to center.
To address this dilemma, the ICON engineering teams got to work re-evaluating the entire group of components, a practice that they refer to as “holistic engineering”. Instead of just updating one or two key pieces, the entire kit was updated to maximize wheel travel while also improving ride quality of these new Ford trucks.
ICON’s new 2020-up lift kits features two new progressive rate coil springs that were developed to achieve the correct lift height for 2020-up vehicles. These new components maintain the excellent ride quality, predictability, and performance that customers have come to expect from ICON’s Super Duty systems. Complimenting ICON’s new coils are various shock options including a 2.0 and 2.5 series aluminum front and rear shock with specific valving designed for the 2020-up Super Duty trucks. While either will yield balanced performance from front to rear of the vehicle, the larger 2.5 series lifts include an option for CDC valving to drastically increase overall damping ability and allow for end-user ride adjustability.
The 2020-up ICON lifts for F250/350 Super Duty trucks offer a range of key features including:
- Approximately a 50-percent increase in wheel travel over stock
- Radius arm drop brackets with correct geometry and caster for optimal alignment specs
- 4-link system that eliminates bind during articulation and maintains positive caster through the entire range of travel
- FK Rod End bearings provide extended longevity and minimal deflection
- Lifetime guarantee against coil spring breakage or sag
