2001 Toyota Tacoma w/ Hiatus Camper – SOLD :: Classifieds

Toyota Tacoma Hiatus camper

If you’re looking for a budget-friendly rig to pack up and hit the road, then today’s 169,000-mile 2001 Tacoma and Hiatus camper is a wonderful option. Grab a camera, sleeping bag, camp stove, and some groceries, and hit the road in one of the most dependable vehicles on the market. I’ve shared a wide array of vehicles in 2023, but today’s Tacoma might be one of my favorites because it captures the very essence of overlanding. It’s affordable, simple but functional, capable, relatively economical, easy to drive, and with just enough space to live inside full-time comfortably. I appreciate that $20,000 is still no small sum of money, but it’s a drop in the ocean when you consider that many modern Tacoma builds are four times the price! If you’d like a better idea of how the first-generation Tacomas can be outfitted for travel, check out the inspiring builds from Take the Truck, TRD Timmy, and Dillon Magnum

Tacoma interior

From the Seller:

We are selling this as a combo, not for individual sale. I’ve owned the truck for 10 years and it’s in fantastic condition, interior and exterior. No damage, no smells. We’ve absolutely loved this combo; however, our family is growing, and we need something a bit larger. This was the second prototype by the Washington company Hiatus Campers. They did the entire build, including interior and electrical. The camper pops up easily in seconds with one person. There is also a side window for easy access to storage bins and screens on windows for summer camping.”
