Ford E-350 4x4

The E-Series may not be the first vehicle that comes to mind when we discuss American automotive icons, but that’s not to say it shouldn’t be considered among the greats. Automotive expert Chris Cordes states: “The Econoline helped build America, and once it had, it stuck around to help maintain it … when it’s done working though, the E-Series is all about hauling fun, from mountain bikes, kayaks, or white water rafts to serving as one of the best adventure vans available today.” Today, it’s become one of the figureheads of the vanlife and overlanding communities and is a fantastic option for backcountry travel. From the factory, this vehicle was designed to endure daily hardship as a commercial workhorse, and is subsequently designed with a function-forward approach that prioritizes utility, payload, and longevity above all else. It was these desirable qualities that captured the imagination of aftermarket companies such as Quigley 4×4, which set to work compiling a plug-n-play heavy-duty 4WD system. This was a killer formula that seamlessly delivered the practicality/liveability of a van with the capability/durability of a 4WD. To this end, cue today’s stunning 2011 Ford E-350 Quigley 4×4 (55,000 miles), which boasts the V10 motor, extensive modifications, and a custom camper conversion and pop-top roof. If this vehicle looks familiar, you’re not alone, as it has received over 124,000 views on YouTube and has been the inspiration for many builds since.

Ford E-SeriesFrom the Seller:

“I have always been partial to the 4×4 converted E-series platform and built two others, so I knew what I wanted and how to lay it out. After lots of searching, we came across a unicorn find with a Quigley 4×4 conversion. The gentleman who originally purchased it used it to drive to the grocery store and back, putting only 15,000 miles on the odometer over a 10-year period, but changing the oil religiously. After we purchased it in late 2021, we used it for a while before starting the conversion in the summer of 2022, completing it in the fall of that year. Top-of-the-line components throughout—it’s a long list. I built this as a family rig and used it as such. We always take care of it, doing regular maintenance and keeping it tidy, and it’s a turnkey rig. We’re buttoning up some ‘punch list’ items in the next couple weeks: new windshield, fluid service, heater service, etc., so the new owners won’t have anything to worry about.”
