Bidding Closes October 29 for Overland Expo Foundation’s Ultimate Overland Builds

Adventure enthusiasts and collectors have just hours left to bid on two one-of-a-kind machines that celebrate the very best in overland design and engineering. The 2025 Ultimate Overland Vehicle Build and Ultimate Overland Motorcycle Build are live now on Bring a Trailer, with auctions closing October 29. The annual auction raises funds for the Overland Expo Foundation, which supports initiatives that protect the environment, strengthen the overland community, and preserve public lands for responsible adventure travel.

Each year, the Foundation selects standout vehicle and motorcycle platforms to transform into fully equipped, expedition-ready builds. These unique projects are then auctioned off, with 100 percent of the proceeds going directly toward the Foundation’s charitable mission.

For 2025, the Ultimate Overland Vehicle Build is based on the GMC Sierra 2500 HD AT4X AEV Edition, paired with an Overland Explorer Vehicle’s Back Country 6-foot and 85-inch slide-in truck camper. Built on a fully boxed, high-strength steel frame, the heavy-duty Sierra is engineered for payload and performance in demanding terrain. The AT4X package adds serious off-road credentials, including Multimatic DSSV dampers, heavy-duty steel bumpers, complete underbody skid protection, and a raised air intake. The truck rides on 37-inch BFGoodrich All-Terrain KO2 tires mounted to 18-inch AEV Salta wheels (with a 35-inch spare), providing both traction and durability in rugged environments.

Inside, the build balances capability and comfort, and bidders should note that the vehicle has seen a fair amount of traffic at the various Overland Expos, but has apparently never been cooked in by Expo staff.

Modular storage, satellite communications, and a complete off-grid power system make the rig ready for extended remote travel. The Back Country camper, constructed without wood and insulated for four-season use, can comfortably sleep up to four people. Together, the truck and camper form a self-contained overland platform that exemplifies modern expedition design.

The Ultimate Overland Motorcycle Build for 2025 is a Suzuki V-Strom 800DE, chosen for its balance of versatility, reliability, and off-road agility. Powered by a 776cc parallel-twin engine and equipped with long-travel suspension and spoked wheels (21-inch front, 17-inch rear), the V-Strom is equally at home on winding highways or remote backroads. Inspired by Suzuki’s Dakar rally heritage, the bike’s setup emphasizes rugged functionality in bright blue and yellow livery.

The Overland Expo team fitted the machine with premium adventure components, including Outback Motortek crash bars and skid plates, an Optima lithium battery, Ram mounts for navigation and accessories, waterproof Mosko Moto soft luggage, and Cyclops Adventure Sports auxiliary lighting. The result is a lightweight, go-anywhere motorcycle that embodies the essence of self-sufficient travel.

Both the truck and motorcycle builds toured all four 2025 Overland Expo events before heading to auction, giving enthusiasts the chance to see them in person. As bidding winds down, the excitement builds—these machines are more than custom creations; they are symbols of exploration and community spirit.

The auctions close on October 29 on Bring a Trailer. Winning bidders will not only own a piece of Overland Expo history but also contribute directly to protecting the places that make adventure possible.
