Arctic Trucks introduced three new vehicles tailored for the North American market at the Overland Expo West in Flagstaff, Arizona. The vehicles presented were the AT35 and AT37 for the 2010-2023 Lexus GX460, the AT39 for the 2022+ Ford F-150 Lightning, and the AT44 for the 2017+ Ford Super Duty. There was also an incredible six-wheeled expedition truck built in conjunction with Krug Expedition, and all vehicles are built to the high standards that have earned Arctic Trucks worldwide respect and admiration. While exploring the Arctic Trucks booth, we had the good fortune to meet Andrew Comrie-Picard, Arctic Trucks’ North America Chief Business Officer and participant in the Transglobal Car Expedition that recently drove to and beyond the North Pole. The future is bright for this company, which specializes in vehicles upgraded to explore the coldest, darkest, and most remote corners of this planet.
Kicking off the range, the AT35 and AT37 models target off-road enthusiasts, featuring body conversions, custom-tuned shocks and springs, 17-inch alloy wheels with 35-inch tires, and a complete branding package. The AT37 variant offers additional suspension enhancements and axle regearing. The AT39 model is designed to run on 39-inch tires with minimal lift, providing a 3.75-inch increase in ground clearance and an approximate 200-mile range. This model is ideal for ski resorts, national parks, and winter research stations. The AT44, developed in collaboration with Krug Expedition, is based on the Ford Super Duty and comes in 6×4 or 6×6 configurations. It features 43-inch Continental MPT tires, a rear dual-axle 8-link air suspension system, and various upgrades for adventure travel and the off-road RV market.
Director of Sales for Arctic Trucks Kyle Leeds emphasized the unique qualities of Arctic Trucks, pointing out the company’s “build in, not up” design ethos. This approach ensures proper fitment of large tires with minimal lift, maintaining a low center of gravity and enhancing winter and off-road performance. Visitors to Overland Expo West had the opportunity to meet the Arctic Trucks team, learn about the new products, and attend the “Lunch and Learn” event, which included presentations on the company’s history, expeditions, and product lines.
In addition to launching their new truck models, Arctic Trucks announced the appointment of five new upfit partners to enhance the availability of its products across North America. This move underscores Arctic Trucks’ commitment to expanding its presence in the region. The selected partners include some of the most reputable 4WD shops in North America and will initially offer AT35 and AT37 conversions for the 2010-2023 Lexus GX460. These partners are Green Tree Fabrication in Anchorage, Alaska; Krave Automotive in Calgary, Alberta, Canada; Mule Expedition Outfitters in Issaquah, Washington, and Tualatin, Oregon; Slee Offroad in Golden, Colorado; and Main Line Overland in Bow, New Hampshire, West Chester, Pennsylvania, and Charlotte, North Carolina.
Kyle Leeds highlighted the significance of this expansion, noting that it provides off-road enthusiasts in North America with the opportunity to experience Arctic Trucks’ capabilities developed over decades in Europe and the Nordic countries. He emphasized that partnering with reputable, established shops to complete these conversions enhances regional access to Arctic Trucks’ products and facilitates the company’s expansion into the North American off-road market.
Arctic Trucks’ COO Randy Hasson praised the quality and expertise of these shops, emphasizing their technical expertise, customer service, and alignment with Arctic Trucks’ products. He assured us that Arctic Trucks is committed to providing the highest-quality parts and support to ensure customer satisfaction.
