Aether Rides Again – 6th Annual Rally May 5-7

Aether is back in Town–Pioneertown, that is–for their 6th annual rally. Within spitting distance of Joshua Tree National Park, the venue offers both motel and camping accommodations in the wide-open spaces. You may have seen last year’s rally on Expedition Portal.

Ticket prices include all food, beverages, group rides, sponsor activations, campfires, and other amenities for the weekend. Event goers will also receive a complimentary gift bag containing an Aether t-shirt and more unique items during the weekend. Rooms in the Pioneertown Motel run $1250 for the two nights, camping tickets are $195. After ordering a ticket, Aether will honor a 20% off code on your next product order. Note that all ticket sales are final.

Getting There

Ride, drive, or hitch a ride with your buddies to a springtime desert weekend fueled by sun, space, and friendship. Group drives and motorcycle rides depart on May 5 from AetherLa (Aether’s Los Angeles HQ), or find your own way. The Pioneertown Motel and adjacent campground both open to rally guests at 4:00 pm.

Fire Up with Aether

Aether Rally day 2 begins with a light brekkie before a group ride to Joshua Tree National Park, a good place to slow ‘er down and enjoy the magic. Street bikes can stick to the pavement while the ADV/dualsport types kick up desert dust. Four-wheelers are welcome as well. It’s a big desert, there’s room for everyone.

Chill Time

After the ride/drive, return to Pioneertown to relax and enjoy the brand activations. As the sun dips toward the western horizon, enticing smells will emanate from the kitchen and the group feed begins. Madre Mezcal will be the pairing for the evening, making this a gathering for the 21 and over crowd. Campfires crackle, people gather and stories are swapped till long after Orion slides into the sea.

Hasta Luego, Amigos

The final day begins with another breakfast, more camaraderie (over coffee this time), then a slow dwindling of attendees. Have a safe trip home, keep in touch with your new friends, and plan next year’s ride to the rally.

Arden’s first motorcycle was a Yamaha Enduro, obtained while in high school. It set the stage for decades of off-pavement exploration on dual-sports and adventure bikes. Camping in the middle of nowhere became his favorite pursuit. As a former whitewater river guide and National Park Service seasonal employee, Arden believes in wilderness, wildlife, and being kind to the earth. A self-taught writer who barely passed English classes, he has contributed adventure stories and tested motorcycles and accessories for Rider Magazine and other outlets for nearly 30 years. In that time, he’s worn out two KLR 650s and is currently following the road to the middle of nowhere on his Ténéré 700 and an aging but reliable DR-Z 400S.
