The Armchair Adventure Festival 2021

For almost a year now, many of us have been dreaming of when or where our next adventure might be. While most of us spend time wondering if we have the money and time to travel, this past year has been different in that respect. Even with money and time, travel itineraries were severely limited or canceled altogether.

Humans are adaptable, however, and often rise above adversity. Matt and Reece, Armchair Adventure Festival organizers, also known as The Sidecar Guys, are two Brits who have figured out an innovative way to bring adventure to you.

The Armchair Adventure Festival runs February 26-28 this year and includes 20 hours of live masterclasses, workshops, and presentations. Last year, Matt and Reece hosted Charley Boorman, who spoke of his experience riding Harley Davidson’s Pan America from Ushuaia, Argentina to Los Angeles, California

This year, the Armchair Adventure Festival hosts iconic moto-adventure speakers such as Kinga Tanajewska of On Her Bike, Simon and Lisa Thomas of 2RidetheWorld, and Steph Jevons, the first person to ride a motorcycle on all seven continents. These incredible people are just some of the many presenters Matt and Reece have lined up for the February event. When I attended last year, I had shivers of joy running up and down my spine. To me, there is little more inspiring than real adventure, heroism, or dream-come-true stories being told live.

For 2021, Matt and Reece have doubled the festival’s content and added a second stage. I was impressed with the organization of the 2020 online festival. The graphics are top-notch and help you easily navigate on-screen wherever you’d like to go—just like a map for a live event. At last year’s festival, I could click on the live stage and go straight to the speaker. Another click on the beautifully illustrated and detailed site map, and I was able to browse an online shop, workshops, and more.

I have no doubt Matt and Reece will provide the same caliber of order at the 2021 Armchair Adventure Festival.

Early Bird tickets are approximately $47 US (£35), on sale until Saturday, January 30. After that, they go up to just over $60 US (£45). Early Bird ticket holders also get a free festival notebook and a sticker. Who doesn’t love free stuff?

Grab some tickets, settle into that armchair or favorite social-distancing spot, and get ready for “a cracking weekend of adventure” this February.
