Ford enthusiasts rejoice, the Ranger just got a whole lot more customizable straight from the dealership. New owners will soon have three optional levels of upgrades to choose from, adding improved performance and style to their 2019 or 2020 Ranger. These additional options come after Ford saw that most new owners were adding an average of over $500 of aftermarket parts to Rangers purchased in 2019.
Trail Ready Ford Rangers from the Dealership
Ford Performance specifically describes these upgrades as “off-road, adventure-ready accessory packages,” and they are aimed at those customers who want better personalization and more “fun-seeking capability with their freedom machines.” LOL at that last quote. These packages include components from Fox, ARB, and BFGoodrich (to name a few) and will be dealer-installed options for 2019 and 2020 Ranger models.
Global Director Eric Cin of Ford Vehicle Personalization states, “Our goal is to inspire customers by giving them capabilities and styling options from the aftermarket brands they love. The three new Ford Performance Packs empower our adventure-loving Ranger customers to explore even further with even more freedom with the added off-roading capability right from the dealership.”
Each package builds on the previous one (i.e., level 2 includes all level 1 upgrades, and level 3 includes all level 2 and level 1 upgrades). Here’s a quick breakdown:
Level 1 (available Aug, 2020)
- Off-Road leveling kit
- FOX “Tuned by Ford Performance” 2.0 Performance Series internal floating piston monotube front and rear shocks tuned by Ford Performance Engineers to optimize on and off-road performance
- Ford Performance 17-inch Dyno Gray wheels
- Ford Performance bedside graphics/Ford Performance windshield banner

- Ford Performance engine calibration, which increases horsepower by 16 percent to 315 at 4,500 RPM, and increases torque by nearly 20 percent to 370 pound-feet at 2,500 RPM
