The Outdoor Retailer Show continues to reinforce overlanding as a rapidly growing segment. The Winter Market show in Denver this week included an Overland Experience area, and even broader OEM representation. For our “Day One” coverage of the industry-only event, we will feature the products, innovations, and vehicles showcased at the venue. Our day two coverage will showcase all of the new camping gear and apparel to support our next adventure.
The Overland Experience booth was operated by Overland Journal (our print publication) and featured multiple training sessions discussing the overland market.

Zero Electric Motorcycles had their dual-sport model on display in the Filson booth. Filson is launching their new line of motorcycle jackets, pants, and accessories.
The Jeep Gladiator was also the darling of the show, with more JTs on display than any other brand.
This was my first chance to see an RLD canopy in person on a Gladiator.
Cake makes some of the most visually impressive and technologically advanced electric motorcycles on the market. They just released updates to their go-fast dirt motorcycle and showcased their new line of utility bikes. It is exciting to see the innovation coming out of the electric vehicle space.
Ford is clearly prepping for the Bronco release, and had a beautiful early model on display.
The new Explorer hybrid was also on display, modified by BTR There is no easier way to make EVERYONE on the road hate you and pump the brakes, then installing a lightbar on top of a white Explorer.
There were two Tucker snow cats at the show, thoughts of polar adventure filling my head.
The most impressive camping unit was the new Snow Peak tiny home, which was on display in their booth and drawing significant crowds. The design is consistent with most Snow Peak products, favoring simplicity and minimalism. As a result, the trailer / home felt spacious and livable, the outside connecting with the inside via multiple windows and decks. It would be an easy way to significantly reduce expenses and same money for more travel! The tiny mobile home was designed by renowned Japanese designer and architect Kengo Kuma, and is called the Jyubako.
The exterior is made from wood and a steel roof, thick walls showcasing the additional insulation.
The Roark brand is all about travel and not looking like a tourist. They are also featuring new collaborations with companies like Danner.
Yakima racks now has a full line of accessories for the overlander, including bed racks, roof platforms, and various boxes and roof tents.
GoPro now has a Defender show vehicle, complete with massive screens integrated into the rear windows.
The Garmin Overlander continues to perform well and meet the needs of the overland traveler.
The Perfect Bungee has released their new adjustable flex-web system, which will do a great job of securing bags inside the vehicle.
The new Skyview Camper Trailer is a unique unit with several unique design elements, including the use of wood and a configurable interior.
The new Truma fridges are an attractive option
National Geographic Adventure Maps continue to expand their content and coverage, including most of Central Arizona and big chunks of Utah and Colorado. Their international map line is becoming our go-to as well. While GPS units are wonderful, always have a paper map and compass for backup.
Stayhold is a new brand out of Ireland that is making durable vehicle tools like shovels and snow clearing devices. There are quite a few thoughtful features, like anti-scratch guards, and reinforced plastics.
