ARB has long been regarded as one of the best bumper and bull bar manufacturers out there. Over the years they have earned the respect of enthusiasts and professionals around the world by surviving the toughest conditions our planet has to offer, all while keeping the vehicle’s occupants safe in the event of a collision. But you can read more about all of that in our field tested article here, because today we’re focused on their newest addition to the product line, Deluxe bumpers for the Jeep JL.
A quick glance is all it takes to know these products were inspired by the original JK bumper, but ARB has changed a few key aspects to match the JL’s more modern lines and appearance. For example, the gloss black finish of old is gone, exchanged for a textured Integrit black powder coat layered over a zinc primer which helps to prevent corrosion after years of use. The square marker lamps have also been removed entirely, thanks to the JL’s new fender flare lamps. Other common features remain though, like the steel construction, airbag compatibility, and OE fog lamp integration.
Instead of mirroring the full guard on their larger bull bars, the JL Deluxe model features a single hoop which keeps the design clean, while still protecting the Jeep’s vital components like the radiator and motor. The wings can match both the Rubicon and non-Rubicon flares, so 37-inch tires should still tuck into the wheel wells nicely without rubbing.
Of course, they didn’t skimp on methods for recovery. The press release states that the front winch housing has room for Warn winches up to 10,000 pounds, and will surely house other similarly sized winches as well. Welded 0.8-inch recovery points are included for shackles, there are integrated slots for a mechanical jack similar to a Hi-Lift or ARB’s new JACK, and lights or communication antennas can be bolted to the front bumper’s integrated tabs.
Overall, this new Deluxe bar packs all the great features you’d expect from ARB, but in a fresh and modern package that fits the JL’s look. Pricing starts at $1,024 USD. For more information, check it out on the ARB website here.
