Decked Announces New Systems for Midsize Pickups

Pickup owners are drawn to their vehicles by the promise of utility and large cargo-hauling capacities, but keeping items organized and within reach has never been very straightforward. Many pickup owners, myself included, have resorted to various bags, cases, totes, and home-built wooden boxes to keep things tidy, secure, and accessible. When Decked entered the market with their plug-and-play drawer system constructed of high-quality materials, the game had officially been changed.

The Decked system consists of two primary components. The first is a full-strength elevated deck made of High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) supported by a steel framework treated with industry leading rust inhibitors for a long service life. The top deck assembly has an impressive load rating of 2,000 pounds and includes attachment points for optional rack tracks, and four weather-sealed hatches provide quick access to the storage area below.

Beneath the top deck, and anchored to heavy-duty sliders, are two full-length drawers also constructed of stiff and strong HDPE material. Each drawer can support up to 200 pounds of gear. Large latching handles and keyed locks keep the contents safe from thieving hands and the entire system is weathertight. Adding to the utility of the drawer system are optional dividers and storage boxes which make locating your gear quick and easy. Perhaps the most impressive attribute of the exceptionally well-designed Decked system is the ease of installation which requires no drilling and minimal tools.

Although relatively new to the market, the first round of Decked systems were extremely popular, but only made available for full-size trucks. We’ve known for some time the Decked team was working on solutions for the growing crop of mid-size trucks, and they finally made that official announcement this week. Now owners of the Tacoma, Colorado, Frontier, and Canyon can outfit their bed with the same system full-sized truck owners have enjoyed for the last couple of years.

As complex and well made as the Decked systems are, the pricing is surprisingly low with kits starting at $1,149. Designed in Detroit and made in the USA, they make any pickup that much better, particularly for our brand of travel.

I just installed one of the Mid Size Decked Systems in my Frontier … very impressed with overall design, build quality, and attention to detail. It took a couple of hours to install due to the number of pieces, but overall was not that technical. Would I buy this system again … Yes
