Land Cruiser 100

The Toyota Land Cruiser is widely regarded as a pinnacle overland platform with recent backcountry equipped offerings, including this 1996, 2001, and 2013. It’s one of a very select few vehicles with a global reputation for uncompromising build quality, durability, and capability, which is why it’s depended on to traverse the world’s most inhospitable climates and terrains. Consequently, these vehicles come at a cost, with an outfitted 70 or 200 Series setting you back in excess of $50,000. Fortunately, the 100 Series remains something of an underappreciated value, which has always baffled me since it provides many of the same desirable characteristics as the iterations mentioned above. With its body-on-frame architecture, bulletproof V8 motor, heavy-duty 4WD system, and access to extensive aftermarket support, it’s a fantastic choice for overland travel. Cue today’s 2000 Toyota Land Cruiser 100 (280,000 miles), which showcases a plethora of premium accessories and underwent a motor replacement at 230,000 miles. From the Seller:

Selling my 100 Series after upgrading to a Tundra. It’s been an awesome vehicle. Runs great and got a new engine at 230,000 miles from Toyota (with documentation). I’ve put 50,000 miles on the new engine. Tons of preventative maintenance completed and supported by $15,000 in receipts. Clean title, no accidents, and I have the Carfax. The only cons are that I never really did any of the cool upgrades like a lift, paint, tint, gear, or wheels. That means it’s the perfect blank canvas to build it out how you like. I can haggle on price if you don’t want or need some of the accessories.”
