Ford F-350

The F-350 is a popular choice on our forum with recent adventure-equipped offerings including this 1995 w/1973 Alaskan camper, a 2012 w/flatbed and composite camper, and a 2023 w/a Norweld flatbed and Four Wheel Campers Grandby. With the combination of 4WD, solid axles, long lived motors, considerable payload, and excellent aftermarket support, they’re ideally suited to backcountry exploration. To this end, cue today’s 1997 Ford F-350 (240,000 miles), which showcases tasteful modifications and is topped with a custom camper. At $24,000, this rig represents impressive value for a full-size package and could be enjoyed as is or serve as an excellent foundation for a full expedition buildout. These 90s Ford pickups find a sweet spot between timeless classic styling and modern dependability (without the complicated electrics), which is why they’re becoming increasingly popular amongst overlanders. If you’d like a better understanding of how these old-school F-Series trucks can be upfitted for exploration, then check out inspiring builds from Stanceworks, Joe Hubbard, and TFL Offroad.

From the Seller:

If you’re looking for a rugged, dependable, go-anywhere off-grid camper setup, this is it! This beast has already traveled around the US, Canada, and Mexico—more than once. I traveled full-time in this camper for several years, and I wouldn’t hesitate to drive it to Patagonia tomorrow. I’m selling because I decided to travel to South America by motorcycle instead. It’s just breaking in at 240,000 miles. Fires up immediately even in freezing temps, runs flawlessly, has zero oil leaks, and is extremely dependable. Original paint and interior in good shape, except rust patch above windshield and rear quarter panel damage (from tire blowout). The custom camper (can be purchased separately for $4,000) I designed and purpose-built to travel low-key without drawing too much attention. The interior kitchen/bed is a one-piece unit constructed of welded metal tubing and plywood paneling with heavy-duty sliders.”
