The Jeep brand has introduced two groundbreaking additions to its lineup: the Jeep Wagoneer S Trailhawk concept and the 2024 Jeep Wagoneer S Launch Edition. These fully electric vehicles mark a significant step in Jeep’s journey towards electrification while maintaining the brand’s legendary capability and design.
The Jeep Wagoneer S Trailhawk concept exemplifies the fusion of electric power and Jeep’s off-road heritage. Built on the STLA large platform, this concept vehicle claims to promise a seamless transition from paved roads to rugged terrains. Antonio Filosa, Jeep brand CEO, emphasized the vehicle’s roots and its advanced capabilities, stating,
“The launch of the all-electric Jeep Wagoneer S marks a new chapter in the storied history of the Jeep brand. Building upon nearly a century of innovation and design, this first global EV will introduce a whole new generation of owners to an experience that is distinctly Jeep and 100% electric in every way. With new energy in the Jeep vehicle lineup, ranging from EV to V-8, customers have never had more freedom to choose their own adventure.”
As a 100% electric SUV, the Wagoneer S Trailhawk concept delivers instant torque and features an enhanced Selec-Terrain system with modes such as Auto, Sand, Snow, Eco, and Sport, augmented by Rock mode and a driver-selectable electronic rear axle locker. The vehicle’s 31.5-inch all-terrain tires and four-wheel drive system ensure it is ready for any adventure.
The Trailhawk concept stands out with its assertive design, lifted suspension, and functional features like heavy-duty tow hooks and air extractors. The front-end design, highlighted by the iconic seven-slot illuminated grille with Storm Gray metallic accents, speaks to its off-road prowess. The special-edition Banner exterior color and rugged details like the anti-glare hood decal and laser-cut aluminum roof rack enhance its adventurous appeal.
Inside, the Wagoneer S Trailhawk concept is tailored for off-road enthusiasts. The interior features soft surfaces wrapped in Mantis Green synthetic material, accented with real stone veneer inspired by meteorites. The redesigned octagonal steering wheel offers a tactical grip for precise control, while the instrument panel includes a cross-car grab bar with exposed fasteners and threaded inserts for mounting gear. The seating combines sport and luxury, with heated and ventilated seats wrapped in Mantis Green and detailed with Ultraviolet accent stitching.
Alongside the Trailhawk concept, Jeep unveiled the 2024 Wagoneer S Launch Edition, the brand’s first global battery-electric vehicle (BEV). Initially available in the US and Canada, this vehicle boasts impressive performance credentials, including 600 horsepower, over 800 newton-meter of torque, and a 0-60 mph acceleration time of 3.4 seconds. It also offers a range of more than 300 miles on a single charge.
The Wagoneer S Launch Edition features Jeep’s exclusive Selec-Terrain traction management system with five distinct drive modes. Its sleek aerodynamic design is complemented by a reimagined seven-slot illuminated grille, 20-inch wheels, and a dual-pane panoramic sunroof. Inside, the vehicle offers 45 inches of usable screen space, a segment-exclusive interactive front passenger screen, and a premium 19-speaker McIntosh audio system.
The Wagoneer S will be available in Jeep brand dealerships across the US starting in the second half of 2024, with plans to expand to global markets.
