Infiniti QX56

The Infiniti QX56 may not be the first vehicle that comes to mind when we think about overland platforms but that’s not to suggest it’s not a great option. This 400-horsepower luxury SUV is underpinned by the legendary Nissan Patrol and subsequently showcases body-on-frame architecture, 4WD, high and low range, 9.2 inches of ground clearance, and much more. Further still, today’s 2011 Infiniti QX56 (175,000) has been extensively uprated for backcountry adventures (reference build thread on the Expedition Portal forum). At $11,000 OBO, this rig represents impressive value when you consider the cost of the aftermarket parts alone and that new it had an MSRP of over $60,000. If you’d like a better idea of how the QX56 handles the rough stuff then check out the adventures of Projects Adventures and Reviews, Jabroni6199, and MotoMan TV.

From the Seller:

This 2011 Infiniti QX56 has been set up as a mild overlander and super comfortable, all-weather daily and long-distance cruiser. It has been our primary road trip car since we bought it in 2021. I started pioneering a couple of mods on this Y62-based platform, and it was a great learning experience. This car was optioned with the Deluxe Touring package, which includes heated and cooled front seats; heated second-row captain’s chairs; and a heated windshield, mirrors, and steering wheel, so it’s supremely comfortable year-round.”
