Winnebago and EcoFlow Join Forces to Offer an Innovative RV with Integrated Energy Solution

As more and more Americans embrace the mobile lifestyle, the demand for innovative power solutions integrated with comfortable and versatile vehicles is on the rise, albeit at a higher cost range. In response to this surge in demand, Winnebago has teamed up with EcoFlow, the energy solutions provider, and has unveiled the groundbreaking Solis Pocket 36B, a state-of-the-art recreational vehicle (RV) featuring the exclusive Winnebago x EcoFlow Power Kit Pro.

The grand debut of the Solis Pocket 36B took place at Winnebago’s Grand National Rally in Forest City, Iowa. This RV aims to set a new benchmark in sustainability-focused vehicles by offering a plethora of features and conveniences typically found in full-sized RVs, all within a compact design. The optional Winnebago x EcoFlow Power Kit Pro showcases a cutting-edge 5-in-1 power management controller that consolidates five crucial power components into one compact hub, effectively optimizing energy performance. Additionally, the system incorporates EcoFlow’s compact yet powerful 5 kilowatt-hour (kWh) lithium battery, contributing to space saving and weight reduction in the vehicle. The inclusion of a new digital touchscreen simplifies operations for owners (the term “5 kWh” represents the energy storage capacity of a battery, specifically denoting 5 kilowatt-hours. The battery can deliver a consistent power output of 5 kilowatts for one hour; the less power consumed, the longer the battery will last).

Winnebago President Huw Bower explained that

“Winnebago’s partnership with EcoFlow is another example of our company’s continuous innovation and proven ability to deliver technology that enhances owners’ experiences on the road. The new floor plan, combined with the optional power solution, makes the Solis Pocket more versatile, energy-efficient, and easier to operate than ever before. It’s just one way Winnebago is giving owners freedom to explore the outdoors on their terms.”

The development of the Solis 36B follows the partnership announcement made earlier this year by the two companies. With its compact size and optional integration of the Winnebago x EcoFlow Power Kit Pro, the Solis 36B opens up new possibilities for customers as the EcoFlow’s lithium battery eliminates the need for shore power connections to operate air-conditioning, lighting, water heaters, water pumps, appliances, and recharge devices.

The EcoFlow 5-in-1 power management controller streamlines energy efficiency, simplifies vehicle operations, and enhances the overall ownership experience by replacing five essential power components: inverter, shore power converter, battery energy converter, solar energy converter, and alternator energy optimizer. The power solution generates up to 3,600 watts, accommodating multiple appliances simultaneously. And it is claimed that, compared to standard power systems, the 5-in-1 power management controller reduces shore-power charging time by 50 percent. The system can plug and play up to two additional batteries, allowing owners to install and connect them without the need for custom wiring. The Solis Pocket 36B also boasts several performance enhancements over the standard EcoFlow Power Hub, including 40 percent faster lithium house battery recharging from the vehicle engine through the Alternator Energy Optimizer and faster battery recovery in extreme conditions. The digital control screen offers a more simplified and intuitive user interface.

The compact 50 kilowatt-hour lithium house battery is an integral part of the Power Kit Pro, providing numerous advantages. Its space-saving design fits snugly under the dinette seat, reducing weight in the compact camper van. With favorable weather conditions and limited power usage, it enables up to three days of boondocking or off-grid living, eliminating the need for a gas or LP generator. It is worth noting that the entry-level EcoFlow 5kWh Power Kit bought individually retails at $1 shy of $8,000.

The Winnebago Solis 36B was designed to offer customization and multi-functionality. The dinette area can be easily reconfigured in seven different ways to cater to a wide range of travel needs, whether it’s solo travel or accommodating up to four people. It serves various purposes, from commuting and entertaining to working on the road.

The customizable modes include:

  • Two dinette modes;
  • Transforming it from a 2-person to a 4-person seating arrangement, a travel mode that provides seating for two additional guests by extending the forward-facing dinette cushion;
  • A sleep mode for solo travelers that converts the dinette into a single sleeper space measuring 30 x 75 inches.

Extending the dinette across the coach creates a comfortable double bed sleeping space measuring 53 x 75 inches. The Solis Pocket 36B also offers three lounge modes, including a sofa, an L-shape sitting space, and a daybed.

To enhance convenience, independence, and security during travel, the Solis 36B features a rear wet bath. This innovative design offers increased storage and flexibility, serving as a shower or an open-space “mudroom” for wet gear. The bath area also includes a portable toilet that can be easily removed to create a larger shower space. Furthermore, the Solis 36B has a built-in sink and countertop for added livability and functionality, a medicine cabinet with a French-style mirror, and access to electrical outlets. Internal water tanks enable extended-season capability by preventing water from freezing.

Pricing for the Solis Pocket 36B is yet to be confirmed.
