Win the Defender 110 of Your Dreams and $20,000

At Expedition Portal, we firmly believe that the type of vehicle you drive and the modifications it has are less important than the places you take it. However, we also believe that winning a Defender 110 and $20,000 of gas money would make exploring a lot more fun! That’s why today we’re sharing this contest put together by Omaze and Alex Strohl to benefit the National Geographic Society. They’ve teamed up with restoration specialist HIMALAYA to offer a chance to win a beautifully refinished Defender 110. Not just any 110 mind you, but the Defender of your dreams. You will work directly with HIMALAYA to rebuild your truck from the ground up exactly how you want it, with upgrades like a custom-made chassis, LS3 Corvette V8 engine, high-quality leather interior, a state-of-the-art sound system, and a custom paint job of your choosing. Afterward, you’ll receive $20,000 to hit the road and have an adventure.

Are you ready for the crazy part? You don’t even have to pay to enter the contest! You simply have to visit the sweepstakes home page below and then click the link that says enter without contributing.

Here’s the thing, though.

If you decide you’re feeling generous and want to make a donation to the National Geographic Society, you can gain up to 2,000 additional entries. More importantly, though, you’ll be helping the National Geographic Society to fund their work supporting scientists, educators, explorers, and storytellers around the world, and who doesn’t want that?

Now, we should note that Omaze does take a portion of the proceeds. While we feel that they are doing enough good through their business for us to share this post, we encourage everyone to do their own research before contributing.

Born and raised in Dallas, Texas, Chris didn’t receive a real taste of the outdoors until moving to Prescott, Arizona, in 2009. While working on his business degree, he learned to fly and spent his weekends exploring the Arizona desert and high country. It was there that he fell in love with backcountry travel and four-wheel drive vehicles, eventually leading him to Overland Journal and Expedition Portal. After several years of honing his skills in writing, photography, and off-road driving, Chris now works for the company full time as Expedition Portal's Senior Editor while living full-time on the road.
