We Will Roam Launches 5-part Australia Overland Series

Following the release of overland series from Bound for Nowhere, Roam Overlanding, Gon Dirtin’, and yours truly (Desk to Glory), Expedition Portal and Overland Journal’s next XOverland-produced series sees 2020 Overland Film Festival winners Ant Austin and Emma Brentnall of We Will Roam return to the wheel after a long and unexpected hiatus.

Over a year in the making, “Less Adrift” charts a physical and emotional reconnection with adventure. Through a gradual rediscovery of what adventure means to them, Ant and Emma reacquaint themselves with their Land Cruiser, Australia’s incredible landscapes, and their shared ambition for a life less adrift.

In 2019, Ant and Emma left home to pursue the dream of driving around the world in their beloved Land Cruiser Troopy. So far, the couple has logged 125,000 kilometers in Australia and just finished a trip to Japan, which required shipping the Troopy from Australia. Musically inclined, Ant and Emma compose their own music for each production, prioritizing emotion and cinematography in their storytelling.

Now available on the Expedition Portal YouTube channel, this 5-part Creator Series follows the couple as they travel 1,200 kilometers from home, starting a new chapter after a year of upheaval and change.

New episodes will be released every Thursday, beginning with Episode 1: This Time, it’s Different.

Ashley Giordano’s first foray into overland travel involved a 48,800-kilometer journey from Canada to Argentina with her husband, Richard, in their well-loved but antiquated 1990 Toyota Pickup. Currently cruising along the iconic Silk Road in a 2008 Toyota Tundra, her full-time navigator duties are rewarded with bowls of plov and lagman noodles, hikes in the Tian Shan, and countless cups of fragrant Tashkent tea. As senior editor at Overland Journal, you can usually find Ashley buried in a pile of travel books, poring over maps, or writing about the unsung women of overlanding history, including her enduring inspiration, Barbara Toy. @desktoglory_ash
