The UBCO 2X2 Adventure Bike combines high tech with high torque via front- and rear-wheel drive. Perfect for beginners and fun for experienced riders, it’s easy to handle, simple to own. UBCO calls the bike an Electric Adventure Vehicle, or EAV 2X2.
EAV 2×2: Built to Last
UBCO’s EAV features a 7027 aluminum alloy X-frame design and 316 stainless-steel components for a weatherproof and durable build. The welded step-through frame is light in weight, but ruggedly reinforced for hard duty. Front and rear luggage racks are standard, and a 330-pound capacity means you can haul plenty of gear. Weighing just 155 pounds, the EAV 2X2 is easy to transport by car or truck. The low maintenance of its twin 1kW electric motors means more time in the saddle.
Clean and Quiet
By using electricity instead of internal combustion, the UBCO bike brings silence to back country travel. And with a top speed of 30mph, the bike can whiz along on a good road. Just twist the grip to get to your comfort zone. Front and rear hydraulic disc brakes slow things down, assisted by regenerative braking that charges the battery. Use any 120-volt outlet to fully charge the cell in 4-6 hours. Swapping batteries is simple if you have a second one, but 75 miles of range should take you deep into the woods and bring you home.
Adventure Calls the EAV 2×2
The UBCO EAV eats hills, using traction and torque from its two motorized wheels to ascend 25% grades. The 17-inch wheels are large enough to roll over the bumpy stuff on trials-type tires, while keeping ride height low. Front and rear suspension, both adjustable for spring preload rebound damping, smooth the ride even more. Feet will stay put on grippy motorcycle foot pegs.
Any electric conveyance is bound to boast plenty of technology to store and use those electrons. UBCO’s battery is IP66 rated for dust and water ingress (dust proof/powerful water jets, not submersible). The motors are brushless DC units with sealed bearings and active heat management. In the pilot house is an LCD display and switches for the horn and lights, but everyone’s favorite will be the electronic twist-grip throttle. LED headlight, taillight and blinkers show you the way and show you off to traffic. UBCO’s app pairs with the bike to monitor the battery and customize performance and handling.
Get Ready to Ride
In addition to front and rear racks, the EAV 2X2 provides 19 forged lugs for bolting on the range of UBCO accessories. For the bike itself, shop at UBCO’s website or one of their many dealers. Bikes purchased online will be shipped to your home and require some assembly. With the standard 2.1kWh battery, the EAV price is $6999. Adding more power and range with the optional 3.1kWh battery brings it to $7999. Heather Lea reviewed UBCO’s Utility Electric Vehicle in 2021.
Katherine Sanford, UBCO CEO, sums the bike up this way, “As well as a top-notch experience for long-time adventure riders, UBCOs are versatile and accessible to accommodate users that are new to motorized riding.”
