Toyota Renews Commitment to the Rebelle Rally

The Rebelle Rally stands as the inaugural off-road navigation rally raid exclusively designed for women in the United States, growing in strength year after year and merging a passion for driving with the near-unique trial of accurate navigation. Toyota Motor North America (TMNA), recognizing the growing relevance and impact of the rally, has reaffirmed its support for the event. For the 2023 rally, Toyota doubled its presence with a contingent of 12 individuals forming six competitive teams, twice the number from the previous year.

The team representatives selected by Toyota are drawn from various facets of the company, encompassing sectors such as Calty Design, Manufacturing, Production Engineering, and Research and Development. Apart from bolstering participation, Toyota is reprising its role as the presenting sponsor of the event’s live webcast, thereby increasing its reach.

Kristen Tabar, group vice president of Advanced Mobility Research and Development at Toyota Motor North America, shed light on the significance of the event. She stated,

“The Rebelle Rally is a unique and empowering experience that aligns with our values of pushing boundaries, learning by doing and fostering a supportive and inclusive culture. We believe that our team members will not only have a lot of fun and learn a lot from the adventure but also bring back valuable insights and skills to their work and their teams.”

The Rebelle Rally, scheduled to run from October 12-21, 2023, charts over 1,240 miles of challenging terrain across the deserts of California and Nevada. The competition distinguishes itself by requiring participants to navigate using just a map and compass, with no assistance from GPS or electronic devices.

As the presenting sponsor of the Rebelle Rally’s Live Webcast for the second year in a row and as a Silver Sponsor, Toyota facilitates the online broadcast of the event on platforms such as the event’s website, YouTube, and Facebook. This coverage provides an immersive experience for viewers, complete with format reviews, standings, competitor interviews, live updates from the course, highlight reels, and a behind-the-scenes look at team strategies.

Lisa Materazzo, the group vice president of Toyota Division Marketing at Toyota Motor North America, expressed her enthusiasm about the renewed commitment. She said,

“We are thrilled to renew our commitment to Rebelle Rally by becoming a Silver Sponsor and continuing as the official Presenting Sponsor of the Live Webcast. Not only does this sponsorship allow us to showcase our exceptional Toyota trucks, but it also enables us to support our team members’ remarkable endeavors. Being associated with such an empowering event is truly an honor, and we are eager to contribute to an unforgettable experience.”
