Have you ever dreamed of exploring with your favorite off-road toy but don’t like the idea of towing a cumbersome trailer? Is the idea of sleeping in your garage appealing, and are you confident that you can convince your partner to do the same? Does the idea of a mobile work truck with acres of storage space appeal to you? We may have found just the vehicle for you.
The highly qualified and experienced Toro Bravo 4×4 team (more about them later) recently introduced their first limited edition vehicle, the 2023 Silver Spear. This vehicle is not just a 4×4 work truck; it’s an RV and toy hauler rolled into one, designed to cater to the needs of doers and explorers alike.
One of the standout features of the Silver Spear is its modular design approach. This approach aims to accommodate a diverse range of users, allowing customers to customize their rig to suit their specific business and/or passion. The emphasis here is on providing versatility and adaptability. Essentially, you can adapt the vehicle’s interior to your needs, as required, and reconfigure the layout when required. For instance, the Silver Spear could be your mobile workshop Monday to Friday but then adapted for weekend warrior missions and Baja beach holidays.
The Silver Spear’s exterior boasts a simplistic aesthetic, optimizing space utilization and allowing you to configure it according to your preferences. This design philosophy prioritizes your needs over predefined layouts. But the Silver Spear isn’t just about looks; it combines off-road capabilities, reliability, and durability with its modular and robust box design. It’s not only a comfortable home on the go—it’s built to last.
In terms of customization, customers can choose from a variety of factory color options for the cab, and all camper boxes are crafted from high-strength R-14-rated composite panels. Worry not, all Silver Spears come with standard factory warranties for the trucks, with an additional one-year warranty covering the camper box.
The Silver Spear features a queen-sized bed and, if necessary, two XL bunk beds for overnight adventures. The rear cantilever ramp and lift gate are ideal for loading and unloading work equipment and double as an outdoor bar height table, deck, cook station, or a spacious workbench when raised to 90 degrees.
The liftgate also serves as a ramp for rolling in or out the removable kitchen cart, motorcycles, an ATV, a full-size snowmobile, or any necessary work equipment. Inside, the Silver Spear comes equipped with a wet bath, a 25-gallon dual-zone cooler, a two-burner propane cooktop, five solar panels, a 60-gallon freshwater tank, a 30-gallon greywater tank, a composting toilet, a permanent sink, and abundant storage. You can use the interior and exterior mounting rails to customize your adventure cargo for any climate or activity.
The Silver Spear is outfitted with 40-inch, all-terrain tires rated up to 81 mph, a Bilstein shocks upgrade, zero-torsion subframe, and exterior under-box storage that adds to the vehicle’s practicality, offering additional space to stow gear, tools, and equipment securely. The Toro Bravo 4×4 Silver Spear is all about customization, and the team asserts that they welcome suggestions, modifications, and additional features from their customers.
One of the most notable features of the Silver Spear is its generous interior habitat volume. Boasting a whopping 836 cubic feet, the Silver Spear is not bound by seasonal limitations with four-season capability. The camper body is constructed of R-15 insulated composite sandwiched foam box construction that guarantees excellent temperature control, keeping you cozy in the cold and cool in the heat. The Silver Spear is equipped with six roof-mounted monocrystalline solar panels and 12-volt power outlets strategically placed throughout the vehicle; a 3,000-watt Renogy inverter is combined with a substantial 600 amp-hours capacity. The Silver Spear can achieve a full recharge in approximately nine hours of full sun exposure, making it an ideal choice for off-grid adventures. Additionally, a diesel generator is integrated with the truck’s fuel tank, which you may often need to run the Truma Aventa A/C heat system.
Heading up the Toro Bravo 4×4 team of designers and engineers is CEO/Founder Jeff Rohrer. Jeff not only boasts a business degree from Yale University, but he also played as a linebacker for the Dallas Cowboys for seven years before eventually transitioning into digital engineering and 3D prototyping for government, automotive, and private projects, reflecting his adaptability and commitment to innovation. Production of the Silver Spear will kick off in January 2024.
