The Sword Hardshell Family Roof Top Tent Will Save You Big Bucks and Precious Time

Equipt Expedition Outfitters is now stocking the Sword Hardshell Roof Top Tent, the newest addition to the Eezi-Awn K9 line of camping accessories designed for small families. This spacious rooftop tent has a larger footprint, accommodating two adults and two children more comfortably than other clamshells or pop-up designs. Not only will you not have to install two rooftop tents (or find an even more costly solution for family traveling) you will also experience the ease and joy of opening and closing one single tent (trust me, I traveled full-time for four years with my wife and two kids in one large roof top tent). This product is very good news for couples with small children and those who require more space than the average rooftop tent offers.

The Sword’s one-piece hinge mechanism and gas struts allow for easy and quick set-up. It is claimed that the tent can be set up in seconds with the help of its integrated hidden platform, which provides additional room in the tent footprint, hanging securely off the side of the vehicle. The tent’s walls are built from durable, rip-stop canvas with double-entry privacy mesh panels, and the roof and floor are insulated to ensure a comfortable night’s sleep.

The Sword’s hardshell design is easy to use, and a single person can quickly unclip only two latches and easily lift to open, then push down gently to close and lock. The ladder stores under the tent, which comes equipped with an internal LED light, two storage pockets, a USB port, and a 70mm high-density king size laminated mattress.

The Eezi-Awn K9 track system is attached to the top of the tent for compatibility with mounting additional K9 accessories, load bars, and/or a solar panel bracket. The tent also features a single entry with privacy mesh panels, an option to deploy on either the left driver side or the right passenger side, 270-degree viewing, low profile aerodynamic design, hook & loop solid & mesh panel management, two handles, lockable stainless steel latches, assistance strap for lowering the roof, internal gas struts, rear rain fly opening with spring steel rain fly rods, and an elevated roof rear.

The Sword Hardshell Roof Top Tent is constructed using a lightweight aluminum body, powder-coated matte black, stainless steel hardware, 260-gram Teflon-coated polyester rip-stop material, 80mm thick laminated mattress, four mounting rails on the bottom of the tent, a four-point DIY mounting hardware set, a patented anodized aluminum extension ladder, and YKK zippers.

The dimensions tell the tale, the Sword has a closed footprint of 87 L x 57-inches W, the built-in mattress is 79 L x 75-inches W x 2.75-inches H, and the maximum mounting height is 84-inches. The weight, including the ladder, is 165-pounds.

Eezi Awn is a South African manufacturer established way back in 1983 and has long been synonymous with quality roof tents, retractable awnings, fridge sliders, roof racks, and accessories; Equipt Expedition Outfitters has been importing high-quality vehicle expedition equipment for over a decade.
