The luxury camper market caters to a small but influential slice of the market, and the overland segment of that market is smaller still. To make an impact and remain competitive, a company must display innovation and creativity. The SOD Rise is in a class of it’s own, providing all the comforts of a small Berlin apartment in a go-anywhere vehicle.
The SOD RISE 4×4 5032 camper looks, on paper, to be in a class of its own, and is based on one of the most highly sought after and revered vehicles in the overland world. The venerable Mercedes-Benz Unimog U5032 with double cab offers an exceptional platform for an off-road camper: sophisticated, robust technology, remarkable performance, and absolute comfort for driver and passengers. The look and feel of the driver’s cab is based on the legendary G 63 from Mercedes-Benz.
The camper body is custom-made and is reportedly designed and implemented in collaboration with experienced vehicle manufacturers and off-road specialists. The structure can be decoupled from the chassis and can be operated independently. The interior looks to be spacious and well thought out (perhaps a few of the items on display are for impression only, certainly not for off-road travel).
Naturally, this vehicle includes all the high-tech bells and whistles one expects from a premium, modern vehicle and will likely come with a War and Peace-size instruction manual. The camper features a spacious interior with an ample power supply, a fully equipped kitchen, voluminous bathroom, built-in WiFi, heating, hot and cold water, porcelain stoneware countertop, solid wood table, a built-in safe, sound system, climate control and so much more.
The vehicle is almost 7 meters long, 3.9 meters high, and 2.5 meters wide and can be modified to carry a motorcycle and any other toy imaginable.
Stone Off-Road Design is based in Germany and this vehicle is expected to cost approximately Euro 899,900.
