Taxa Outdoors has a unique connection to NASA through its founder, Garrett Finney. Before starting Taxa, Finney worked as a Senior Architect at NASA’s Johnson Space Center, where he was involved in designing living spaces for astronauts. This experience influenced the design of Taxa’s campers, emphasizing efficient use of space, durability, and functionality—qualities crucial for space exploration and off-road camping. The Mantis X, the largest model, fits four adults and includes advanced amenities like a Victron Smart Voltmeter and Bluetooth-controlled lighting. The Woolly Bear X, a utilitarian basecamp, has an outdoor kitchen with ample storage and sleeps three adults in a rooftop tent.
