Staples In Tents Hosting First “Gathering” Campout in Crawfordville, Georgia

Sonya and Necota Staples of Staples In Tents and Black People Off-road are champions of equality in outdoor spaces and have made a concerted effort to share camping and overlanding with everyone, especially people from marginalized communities who have not traditionally enjoyed easy access to outdoor recreation opportunities.

This October, Sonya and Necota are hosting the first Gathering, a social weekend event designed to “create a safe and welcoming environment where all campers feel comfortable, and leave with an increased confidence and curiosity about camping and outdoor adventure.”

 

The Gathering has been designed to appeal to new and seasoned outdoor enthusiasts alike and will offer educational workshops teaching a variety of skills including off-line navigation, camping with kids, camp cooking, outdoor ethics, fire safety, outdoor safety, off-roading, with bonfires and a custom escape the woods game.

Attendees will enjoy safe and secure camping on 50+ acres of beautiful private property, a swag bag from sponsors valued at $150+, a Friday night movie, Saturday night bonfire, nightly happy hours with beer, workshops, contests, raffles, and much more.
