Rago Fabrication has partnered with Doetsch Off-Road to support an overland build of a 2024 Land Cruiser, raising funds for A Race Against Blindness. This collaboration is intended to generate awareness and financial support for the fight against Bardet-Biedl Syndrome (BBS) and other vision-related disorders. Kristina and Steve Johnston, founders of A Race Against Blindness, were inspired to start this initiative after their son, Luke, was diagnosed with BBS, a rare degenerative disease that affects vision. The nonprofit holds raffles for vehicles such as adventure vans, sports cars, and overland trucks to support research and clinical trials for blindness, retinitis pigmentosa, and other low-vision conditions. One of their ongoing fundraisers is centered on the 2024 SEMA Overland Land Cruiser.
Daniel Bohler, Brand Manager for Rago, commented on the collaboration,
“We were excited to partner with Doetsch Off-Road to help create this exceptional Land Cruiser build for A Race Against Blindness. It was a pleasure to work with such an amazing charity and generous sponsors. The overland community is known for its willingness to come together and assist those who need a helping hand, and it was inspiring to be a part of such a large group of people who were eager to support Luke and other children fighting to cure their rare low-vision disorders.”
To bring this project to life, Rago Fabrication donated a range of its specialized components for the build, including a Land Cruiser front bumper, brush guard, front skid plate, full-width rear bumper, roof rack, decking panels, and both interior and exterior molle panels. They also provided A-pillar light mounts. The Land Cruiser features additional enhancements, including Black Rhino AWOL 17-inch matte black wheels, a Dobinsons 3-inch coil-over adjustable lift kit, Freespirit Recreation’s Aspen Light rooftop tent, Kammok’s Crosswing awning, KC HiLites lighting systems, Rotopax accessories, and a WARN Industries EVO 10-S winch.
The 2024 Land Cruiser was displayed at the SEMA show in Las Vegas from November 5 to 8, courtesy of Doetsch Off-Road, to promote the raffle and raise visibility for A Race Against Blindness. The fundraiser for the 2024 SEMA Overland Land Cruiser opened on November 2 and will continue through December 31, 2024, participants have the chance to win the Land Cruiser along with $25,000 in cash. Entries feature multipliers to improve odds and start at $10.
