Pole of Cold – Journey to the Coldest Inhabited Place on Earth

In 2017, following the success of the ‘Driven to Extremes’ series as aired on the Discovery Channel, Max Adventure will be offering clients the chance to drive the world’s coldest road behind the wheel of an expedition prepared Toyota Land Cruiser. This two week adventure, as driven by Hollywood actor Tom Hardy and former F1 racer Mika Salo, covers 2,000km in temperatures down to a mind numbing -71C from Yakutsk to Oymyakon along the infamous Road of Bones in far-eastern Siberia. Highlights of the trip include driving across the vast frozen Lena River, spending a night under canvas with reindeer herders, and reaching the Pole of Cold, the coldest inhabited place on earth.

“It was the most amazing thing I’ve ever done” Tom Hardy

“It’s something you have to see with your own eyes” Mika Salo

Max Adventure’s Mac Mackenney will be undertaking a final reconnaissance of the route in order to confirm arrangements for 2017. There are a few places available for anyone wishing to join him on this 2-week trip, arriving in Yakutsk on the 13th February 2016 and departing on the 25th.
