Yeti Announces Limited Edition Color Collections

Yeti Announces Limited Edition Color Collections

First up in this week’s Overland News, Yeti announces new limited edition color collections, Agave and King Crab. The former is inspired by the Mexican tradition of hand harvesting mature agave plants (aka magueys), which are used to create “mezcal’s boldness, tequila elegance, and the hidden charm of raicilla.” The King Crab collection celebrates conservation efforts in Alaska, with King Crab waters reopened for fishing in 2023. This striking color is a testament both to the efforts of conservationists and the resilience and resourcefulness of the people who fish in these waters.

Ford Partners with ARB 4×4 Accessories to Optimize New Ranger for Adventure

Overland News Ford Ranger ARB 4x4 Accessories

Back in March 2021, Ford and ARB announced they’d be working together to create a suite of products designed to optimize the latest Ranger (and Everest) for overlanding. Initial developments were showcased at the 2023 Sema Show in the form of an ARB-outfitted next-gen Ranger “Off-Road Vehicle” (ORV) concept. Since then, work has continued, and includes bumpers, side steps, skid plates, Old Man Emu suspension, a truck bed canopy, rooftop tent, slide-out kitchen, recovery points, lighting, and much more. As expected, ARB has risen to the challenge and established a one-stop shop for uprating the Ranger for adventure.

Jetboil, Trailware

Overland News Jetboil Trailware

Whether hiking, bikepacking, kayaking, or overlanding, my cookware remains much the same and is chosen to be as lightweight and functional as possible. With this in mind, the new Trailware range reimagines traditional camp cookware with a longer handle to reach the bottom of a Jetboil or dehydrated meal packet without getting food on your hands. In addition, the spoon enjoys a silicone edge that allows the user to scrape the pot clean without the risk of scratching. Finally, the utensils snap together for easy storage when not in use.

Matador, Gear Tags 2-Pack

Matador Gear Tags

I recently flew out to Italy on a bikepacking trip, which meant checking a bicycle box at the airport alongside my checked bag and carry-on. In the past, bikes haven’t arrived at my destination, so I take every precaution to ensure they’re not lost. I generally add my details to the exterior of my bags as I’ve had conventional luggage tags snap. Fortunately, Matador has solved this issue with their new gear tags that fit any bag or pack and are made of “indestructible” Hypalon, which is water, impact, and dust-proof. Simply add your details in permanent marker, and rest assured they’ll stay fixed.

Burch Barrel, Chuckbox

Burch Barrel, Chuckbox

I generally opt for soft storage on the road as it allows me to collapse the bag and stow it away when not in use. However, that means the contents are more easily damaged. The Chuckbox offers the best of both worlds, providing a solid storage box with convenient access via the top and side openings, yet it is completely collapsible. The box is available in three sizes (28, 50, and 65 liters) and two colors (Tan or Green). Further, Burch Barrel offers various accessories for the Chuckbox, including its Buck Cutting Board, which turns the box into a functional kitchen worktop.
