Overland Classifieds :: Expedition Overland’s 2016 Toyota Land Cruiser 200 Series

Occasionally a rig is posted for sale on our forum that makes me a little weak at the knees, and today’s epic 200 Series Land Cruiser “Samson,” built by Expedition Overland, is just about as good as it gets. If you’re not familiar with the company’s work, then the best place to start is the X Overland Youtube, which is undoubtedly one of the most entertaining, inspirational, and informative overland channels out there. Today’s 200 Series plays a starring role and can be viewed in action in their South America and Overlander Series, The Great Pursuit, Baja Series, and more. I’m not sure any vehicle we’ve featured has been accompanied by such a well-documented résumé. Knowing the expertise and attention to detail invested into their builds, I’d feel absolutely confident in my purchase.

From the Seller:

At X Overland, we love Toyota Land Cruisers. Our 2016 LC200, ‘Samson,’ embodies all the best elements of the Land Cruiser platform with that of an X Overland build. Samson is refined yet rugged, truly a pleasure to drive around town and on the highway while being extremely capable off-road. This legendary Land Cruiser has proven itself on three separate XO expeditions: South America 2017, Overlander 2018, Mexico in 2019, and Baja in 2021—experiences that have made Samson a favorite of the team at XO and fans alike.

And you can trust us when we say Samson is mechanically sound. Each time upon returning from an expedition, all of our vehicles are meticulously reviewed by our in-house team as well as by XO-endorsed professional technicians to identify any mechanical issues, repair and replace any damaged or faulty items, and thoroughly service the entire vehicle from bumper-to-bumper. Our stringent process of mechanical review is time tested and ensures that our vehicles are ready for the next adventure.”

2016 Toyota Land Cruiser 200 Series

The legendary 200 Series is fitted with a powerful V8 motor that produces 381 horsepower, 401 pound-feet of torque, and returns a combined 15 mpg. On-road handling is surprisingly responsive thanks to Toyota’s Kinetic Dynamic suspension, which has the ability to stiffen the anti-roll bars for better handling. However, it’s when the tarmac ends that the 200 Series really comes to life, thanks to full-time 4WD, 9.5 inches of suspension travel, locking center differential, low range, and a 30-degree approach angle. In addition, hardware is supported by intelligent all-terrain systems such as hill-start assist, Off-Road Turn Assist, and Crawl Control. Inside, the Land Cruiser is very well-equipped. Driver comforts include the following:

  • Four-zone climate control
  • Heated front and second-row leather seats
  • Premium sound system
  • Infotainment system with navigation
  • Heated leather-trimmed steering wheel
  • Adaptive cruise control
  • Rear-seat DVD entertainment system
