Overland Classifieds :: 2022 Ram 1500 TRX w/ Ovrlnd Camper

It’s fair to say that overland vehicles are generally not synonymous with speed, and if anything, are traditionally slower than most daily drivers. However, over the past few years, there has been a wave of 4WD trucks released that seek to combine rugged go-anywhere capability with blistering Trophy Truck performance. Recent examples on our forum include this 2018 Ford F-150 Raptor, a 2020 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 Bison Edition with Super Pacific Camper, and a Toyota Tundra TRD Pro. It does feel like we’re entering an era where you really can “have it all” as manufacturers battle it out to create vehicles that tick as many boxes as possible. That’s not to say they’re perfect, and there are inevitable trade-offs. The 702 horsepower TRX returns a combined 12 mpg, which isn’t ideal for long-distance touring when you could opt for the 3.0-liter diesel alternative that returns an impressive 24 mpg combined. I would suggest this truck was best suited to those who seek weekend adventures or occasional long-distance trips, rather than a platform for a round-the-world expedition (I’m sure the TRX would be fun, but expensive). Today’s example has covered just 12,500 miles, features desirable factory options, an Ovrlnd camper, and enjoys a Mopar extended warranty that’s good until 2027, or 85,000 miles.

From the Seller:

I love this rig, but I’m considering going full-time in the next 6-9 months so putting feelers out for potential trades more suited for a couple living on the road. I’m not in a rush, so [I am] willing to wait for the right offer.”

2022 Ram 1500 TRX

The 1500 is fitted with a V8 motor that produces 702 horsepower, 650 pound-feet of torque, and returns 10/14 mpg (city/highway). A powerful, but thirsty, engine provides exhilarating on-road performance with an incredible 0-60 time of just 4.5 seconds, which is astonishing for a full-size truck. Lightning acceleration is matched with impressive capability thanks to 4WD, low range, 11.8-inches of ground clearance, 32-inch wading depth, Dana 60 solid rear axle with an electronic limited-slip differential, Bilstein Black Hawk e2 adaptive dampers with remote reservoirs, and more. As you’d expect from a truck originally costing the best part of $100,000 the interior trim is luxurious with driver comforts that include:

  • Uconnect 5 infotainment system with navigation
  • Power adjustable heated leather seats
  • Surround-view cameras
  • Leather heated steering wheel

Distinguishing Features

  • Overland Vehicle Systems Nomadic LT 270 awning
  • Ovrlnd Camper
  • Eibach rear-leveling springs
  • Maxxfan Deluxe
  • Sunflare Xplor 180-watt solar panel

This 2022 Ram 1500 TRX w/ Ovrlnd Camper is listed for $95,000 and is currently located in Southern California. Check the full vehicle specifications via the original Expedition Portal forum post here.
