Overland Classifieds :: 2003 Mitsubishi Fuso FG 4×4

During the pandemic, the price of used overland rigs skyrocketed as people switched from international travel to adventures closer to home. It’s safe to say that things got a little out of hand with vehicles often selling for significantly more than market value. Thankfully, the situation has relaxed a little since borders started opening up but bargains are still few and far between. However, that’s not to say they don’t exist, and today’s Fuso 4×4 is proof! In fact, at just $15,000 this might be one of the best value rigs I’ve ever featured when you take into account the Mitsubishi’s desirability and potential (there’s a reason the Fuso has been the 4×4 platform of choice for EarthCruiser). The seller does disclose that both the truck and habitation box require some work, but at this price, I’d be very tempted. Especially when you consider that recent examples have included this $129,000 2007 expedition vehicle, a $55,000 2001 camper, and a $189,000 West Elk Wilderness Edition. The Fuso 4×4 is a truly capable rolling home as demonstrated on the 4Wtrucking Aus and Fido Expeditions YouTube channels. If you’d like to see how this platform can be outfitted as a rolling home then check out this stunning Fuso 4×4 overland tiny home tour. Today’s 2003 model has covered 231,653 miles and features premium modifications and a spacious habitation box. It is a fantastic project for 2023, should it be yours?

From the Seller:

We bought the truck and built out the tiny home on the back, lived in it for a few years and travelled the country. The Fuso is an incredible vehicle, and it fits in a ]regular] parking spot! It has a custom-built metal frame (shown in [the] pictures) with 3-point [mounting]. You could take off the home and start from scratch, keep the metal frame, and build it how you want it, or use it as is. It needs some work as we haven’t lived in it for two years. If you’re just wanting the truck and are going to redo the home on the back we can talk about a lower price.”

The Fuso is fitted with a 3.9-liter diesel that produces 145 horsepower and 275 pound-feet of torque. It’s also worth noting that this engine does not require ultra-low sulphur diesel, which makes it a great option for overseas travel. A dependable motor is matched with impressive all-terrain performance thanks to 4WD, rear limited-slip differential, 2-speed transfer case, heavy-duty leaf spring suspension, and more. The cab is not especially luxurious and is designed to be utilitarian and practical above all else.

Distinguishing Features
